OneNote vs. OneNote for Windows 10
I received an email this morning reminding me of the impending end of support for the OneNote for Windows 10 app. As I do periodically when I am reminded about this, I launched the OneNote on Windows (OneNote M365) app and lamented how much less user friendly it is than its doomed cousin. The lack of a "Recent Notes" view is my biggest gripe, but the awkward "pop-over" search comes a close second. The tabs and search result are on an ugly grey background and everything is just slightly too small to read comfortably. We're all licensed (verified) with M365 Copilot, and for about the last week, one of our workhorse intake forms has stopped working with regards to the "Insights from Copilot" feature. When we attempt to refresh the insights, it presents the message, "Your form has XX responses. Copilot is analyzing the data to provide insights.", then spins for about 30 seconds, and then presents the error, "The insights haven't been generated successfully. Please try again." We're syncing responses to an Excel workbook, and that seems fine, but after about a week these "insights" just started failing in this fashion. We've done basic troubleshooting like trying InPrivate browsing, cache clearing, and since we are only at about 100 responses for this particular small form we're not hitting any limits. Regardless, it's wedged stuck in this state. I reported it via the M365 Admin portal and received the usual "No issues found" reply. π Anyone else seeing this problem? Hi, folks. I'm attempting to create a spreadsheet that contains links from consecutive cells to consecutive cells in another worksheet that are separated by 5 intervening cells. I'll call the original consecutive spreadsheet "Orig" (for original). So, I know that if I put "='Orig'!A3" in cell B3 and then copy that down, it will update the relative formula consecutively, i.e. B3='Orig'!A3, B4='Orig'!A4, B5='Orig'!A5, B6='Orig'!A6.... that much I get. What I need to do is find a way to do the same thing, but to increase the resulting link.....so that if I copied the formula down column B I would get: B3='Orig'!A3, B8=Orig'!A4, B13='Orig'!A6', etc so that the new worksheet is moving down 5 cells relative to the Orig sheet consecutive order. I've read where someone used a formula using the INDIRECT function but that's beyond my beginner level. Hello. I have a Table of film credits, including the names of directors and writers. Some films have multiple directors (up to 3 individuals), whose names are in columns F, G and H. The writers' names (up to 4 individuals) are in columns J, K, L and M. I want to test for whether the film has a writer/director - e.g, one of the director names in the range F:H is the same as one of the writer names in the range J:M. I have created a column O to contain a formula with a logical test returning Y if there is a writer/director present. I tried =IF(Table4[@[Wri1]:[Wri4]]=[@Dir1]:[Dir3],Y,N) but this returns a spill error. Hello All, I have a set of mailboxes with LitigationHoldEnabled = True, and I need to remove Litigation Hold from them. My understanding is that after I remove Litigation Hold from an Exchange Online mailbox, the next time the Managed Folder Assistant (MFA) processes the mailbox, it will detect the hold removal and then set DelayHoldApplied = True. This begins the 30-day delay hold period. My question is: Will any retention policies delete data in the time window between removing Litigation Hold and the moment MFA processes the mailbox and sets DelayHoldApplied = True My understanding is "Even though DelayHoldApplied is not yet visible (or True) before MFA processes it, Exchange Online automatically protects the mailbox from deletions immediately after hold removal, before MFA applies Delay Hold" I want to ensure that no data is deleted during this transitional period. 1. For row 45, I have calculation for 30% of row 42 ex. =F42*.30. If the result is a negative number, then I would like it show a 0 instead of the negative number. 2. Next, for row 48, the result of =F9-F45 can be no greater than F9. So if it is greater than F9, then F9 is the highest number that it should show, in this case $281, but should still show values 0 up to the amount of F9. I followed all the steps on enabling them however, when I try to use macro functions on my excel sheets (like changing font colors, adding border, etc) I am unable to do so and my computer adds these arrow keys instead. I have different tabs for each month. I need the total of the last day of month to start in the opening balance on the next tab in the beginning of the month. but some months obviously has 30 days and some 31 and then there's Feb too doing whatever it wants ;-) the total here in AH has to be the last day of the month - here it's the 30th and 379 the opening balance for the next tab (yellow block) has to be whatever the previous month's closing total was. I am using Windows 11 Pro on my Lenovo P14 laptop, and Windows 11 on my HP Pavillion x360. I often write in Word and insert Em dashes. CTRL+ALT+"-" (shortcut). Both machines have this setting automatically in Word's built-in shortcuts, however the Lenovo machine ignores the shortcut sequence and inserts nothing (the HP works fine). Hello, I need to report how many hours a staff member supervised one or more volunteers. For a very simplified example, Volunteer Name Date Start Time End Time Supervisor Fred 1/1/26 1:00pm 3:00pm Lucy Ethel 1/1/26 2:30pm 4:30pm Lucy Here 4 volunteer hours were served, but because there was a 30 minute overlap, Lucy only supervised for 3.5 hours. Is there a way to get Excel to calculate that? To say: look at all the entries with matching date and matching supervisor, and add up non-overlapping time. Does anyone know what the optimal size of Word documents should be if you have multiple word documents open simultaneously? I frequently access two Word documents at are about 800KB each. When I have both open, I notice a significant performance degradation when I do searches, add/modify/delete contact, toggle between the documents. This really impacts my productivity. I am wondering I should reduce the size of these files or move them to a different drive or memory stick to improve performance. I don't want to break these documents up yet given that instead of having two Word documents open, I might have four Word documents open simultaneously and still have the performance issues.
