Video is an important component of any marketing campaign. An authentic and relatable clip about a company’s brand promise can help build trust with customers. A demo of a product or service in action can boost consumer confidence in a business’ offerings.1
No matter what kind of business you’re in, the odds are good that video marketing can help. Screen recordings can help show customers how your product works. Tutorials or unboxing sessions can illustrate your product’s quality. A promo video is a great way to share your business’ story with a wide audience. Or maybe you just want to highlight your customers’ interactions with you, so the rest of your audience feels a closer sense of community.
However, small and medium businesses (SMBs) often shy away from video because they believe it carries a hefty price tag if they hire someone else to do it, or too steep a learning curve if they’re doing it themselves. This is where Microsoft Clipchamp can make a difference—helping you produce professional-grade videos more quickly and easily.
The Clipchamp challenge
Concerned that you won’t know what to do the first time you open Clipchamp? Accept this challenge—just give it a try. We’ve simplified the video creation and editing process to make it an intuitive process—especially for beginners.
Make your first online video
Let’s say you want to make an online version of a video an employee took at a recent customer event.
STEP ONE: Download your video from a camera or phone
Clipchamp lets you store it in a variety of places, including your local drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Stream. You’ll be able to see and access your file from any of these locations and immediately start editing in Clipchamp, whether you recorded at 4k resolution (horizontal pixel count of approximately 4,000) or just High Definition (HD: 720-pixel image resolution).
STEP TWO: Start editing
Once in Clipchamp, move through your recording at whatever speed you need, all the way down to frame-by-frame.
- Clipchamp’s interface provides editing tools to trim, cut, crop, and adjust your video. You’ll be able to add text, transitions, graphics, effects, or color filters.
- It’s an easy step to use features like the editing timeline for adding or deleting videos, importing outside images, or adding audio clips. You can even split your video into smaller clips using the GIF format for clips smaller than 15 seconds.
STEP THREE: Use your video
Once you’re done, just hit Export and you can save your files into whatever video format you need, including MP4, MOV, or WMV. And if you’re worried about any specific requirements your target player might have, don’t be. Tell Clipchamp where you want to upload your video and it will automatically adjust for specific resolution requirements, like those required by Facebook and YouTube, or you can adjust these settings yourself with the Video Resizer.
There are multiple ways to leverage video investment. You can use it on YouTube or Instagram, but you can also embed video players on web pages or even in a Microsoft PowerPoint deck or Microsoft Word document.
