Announcement: Skype for Business Online Call Quality Dashboard updates (April 26th 2017)

Microsoft

Hi,

I wanted to let everyone know about a recent update to the Skype for Business Online Call Quality Dashboard. We've recently deployed an update to the data model that powers the dashboard. This includes a few bug fixes and a couple of changes to address user feedback:

  • IP Address dimensions now are shown using standard IPv4 or IPv6 notation. No more dashes!
  • CallSetupFailureReason dimension has been remapped to easier to understand and more admin actionable classifications. Refer to https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Dimensions-and-measures-available-in-Call-Quality-Dashboard... for more details.
  • The following dimensions have been removed:
    • MediaStackVersion
    • FirstWifiSignalStrengthValue
    • SecondWifiSignalStrengthValue
    • FirstWifiBatteryChargeValue
    • SecondWifiBatteryChargeValue

Notes:

  • If you have built custom detailed reports using filters using either an IP Address dimension such as SecondSubnet or CallSetupFailureReason you may need to manually update these filters.
  • There may be very slight changes in stream counts with this new more accurate data model. If you see any dramatic delta in the data shown in the reports, please reach out to support.
  • The WiFi dimensions that have been removed have alternative dimensions available such as SecondWifiSignalStrength. Refer to https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Dimensions-and-measures-available-in-Call-Quality-Dashboard... for details.

These data model changes also help enable some new upcoming reports. More to come :)

Cool. When can we get API access though?

Hi Vasil,

We are working on providing API access to this data but I can't provide any details or timelines at this point. What do you want to do with this data when it is provided via an API?

thanks!

All sorts of dirty things :) Basically, integrate it into our custom reports, so we can provide some additional analytics/insights. @Alan Byrne, who's my boss at Cogmotive, has been nagging me to get more information about new ways to access SfBO usage/quality data, now that the old PowerShell cmdlets and the reporting web services have been deprecated. The CQD data is just one of the things we're interested in.

I know you guys have a Preview on the CQD running currently, does it include access to the APIs? And does it makes sense for us to join it now, or just wait a bit longer? :)

Thanks for sharing. There are no API's currently available to access the SfB Online CQD. CQD is available for all customers and tenants of Office 365. There a set of reports that are in open preview because they are only available in English which is something we are working to address.

Are there any updates on when API access may become available?

I've been looking at CxdCallData as a solution, but it isn't working for me yet.  I suspect it has something to do with Multi-Factor Authentication and/or ADFS.

Hi, William.  The data from the CQD for SFBO is needed to map Skype client versions to users/IP Addresses/machines.  Frequently, Skype issues can be traced to outdated SFB clients on workstations - however, the client version is not available via Graph API.  Appreciate if you would update on availability and/or sponsor a feature request.

Are there any news on the API Access for CQD ? @William Looney

2 years are over ..

I've found an API  (CQD_Data_API with the endpoint: https://cqd.teams.microsoft.com/CQD_Data_API) however there is no documentation available at all :(

the following documentation for the onprem world does not help that much

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/skypeforbusiness/management-tools/call-quality-dashboard/data-api

it would be great to to know how to use this cqd_data_api scope

thank you

stefan

Hi @William Looney

Any news on an API attached to the Call Quality Dashboard including the Teams metrics.

I am writing an application that will eventually pull the information from the CQD for each of our tenants in the background and collating these with other vendors metrics to give a single pane of glass report but as yet I am still awaiting documentation and access to an API to do this.

I have tried https://repository.cqd.lync.com and https://repository.cqd.teams.microsoft.com.

I have also granted my application access to the https://cqd.teams.microsoft.com/CQD_Data_API application within Azure but my application is not getting access.

Do you have a document on the CQD API and its accessibility and required permissions.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi @Dan Byne

we are having exactly the same situation :)

The Information i have is , that a TAP is expected in ~ April '19.

So we need to be a bit more patient :(

hope this answer helps

cheers

Hi @Stefan Fried,

Thank you for the update. This one has been a long time in the pipeline.

I thought with everything moving to the MS Graph, the CQD would be included under reports somewhere.

Thanks again.
