Microsoft is thrilled to join so many of our customers and partners this week at the AIIM Conference 2022 (AIIM22) in Denver.  And we’re also sharing the latest news for SharePoint Syntex -- new license benefits, new assessment tools – and even new Teams backgrounds - here at the conference.

SharePoint Syntex Assessment

While many customers start their Syntex journey with a specific scenario in mind, they also want to know where else Syntex might be able to help. Others see value in the technology but can’t identify that first use case to make it real. Today we are releasing SharePoint Syntex Assessment, the first module of the new Microsoft 365 Assessment Tool.

Syntex Assessment will gather data for you about your SharePoint libraries and generate a Power BI report with recommendations of where Syntex might fit. These recommendations are based on factors such as the size and structure of libraries, existing use of metadata or content types, and use of retention labels.

The Microsoft 365 Assessment Tool is built using the PnP Core SDK, with support for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Assessments are run on your device, with data stored locally. It follows the best practices to maximize performance and reduce the impact of throttling.

Update on AI Builder credits

To ensure Syntex users have access to the right model services for their business need, we’re reducing the number of licenses required to receive AI Builder credits. These credits are required to train and run forms processing models.

Currently you must already have these credits through a dedicated add-on or by purchasing at least 300 licenses of Syntex for a renewable monthly allocation of 1M credits for AI Builder.

We’re expanding the eligibility for AI Builder credits by including 3,500 credits per SharePoint Syntex license per month, pooled at the tenant level, with a maximum allocation of 1M credits per month.

As a result of this change, starting at the end of May, if you didn’t have enough licenses (300) to get the seeded allocation (1M credits), you’ll receive AI Builder credits based on your number of Syntex licenses available to evaluate and use forms processing models.

The revised credit allocation will be made automatically based on your Syntex license count. You can confirm this in the Syntex admin settings or Power Platform admin center.

If you have forms processing disabled, you’ll need to enable it for your tenant – or select sites – to use these credits for training and running form processing models.

SharePoint Syntex Teams backgrounds

To celebrate the many updates that we’ve made and continue to make to SharePoint Syntex, we have new Microsoft Teams backgrounds that feature the Syntex icon. Download the backgrounds today and use them in your future meetings.
