When we talk about the lifecycle of managing your unstructured, end-user data, the first pillar is Know Your Data. This is the stage where the aim is to understand your data landscape and identify the important data to your business, across all your locations. When it comes to O365 we have tools to help you with this.

This webinar was presented on Tue Feb 11th 2020, and the recording is available here.

Attached to this post are:

  1. The FAQ document that summarizes the questions and answers that came up over the course of both Webinars; and
  2. A PDF copy of the presentation.

Thanks to those of you who participated during the two sessions and if you haven’t already, don’t forget to check out our resources available on the Tech Community.

Thanks!

  • Hi Dean_Gross

Thanks for calling this out. I had actually updated the main webinar page last week, but missed this blog post. I've updated it now.

    Cheers,

    Adam

  • Hi Souyra ,

I'm not sure what you're first question means, would you mind rewording it or explaining it a bit further please?

There is no configuration to setup the Data Classification dashboard. You will see data here from any source that sends events to the M365 auditing end-point. Neither of the AIP add-in's (classic or unified labeling) send data to this dashboard (at this time - it's being investigated).

    Cheers,

    Adam

  • Hi Souyra

If you currently have AIP deployed on your endpoint then yes, the events from AIP will be visible in the AIP Analytics dashboard (if you have configured it).

Office (Pro Plus, Mac, Android, iOS and Office for the web), and other products with MIP features as we release them across Microsoft products will send their events to the M365 Data Classification dashboard (if they don't already).  The differentiator here is that MIP feature are built-in to our products - there is no add-in to deploy and manage.

As mentioned previously, we are currently investigating bringing the AIP events into the M365 dashboard, but there are no timelines to share at this stage.

I hope that answers your questions.

    Cheers,

    Adam

    I have some quetions please.

Does it possible to see content explorer at end point device ?  Are they any configuration to do before? Does it make difference if the end point use UL or Classic client ?

    Thanks AdamBell

Your answer is clear. So actually if I want to audit my user endpoint (laptop,...) I need to use AIP classic Dashboard.

    Cheers
