Fields Added to View and Edit Forms Screens Not Showing on SharePoint Published Form

 
 

I have a SharePoint list and have used the PowerApps Customize forms option for creating New, View and Edit forms.  I've recently added two additional SharePoint fields to both the View and Edit forms, saved and republished, however, these added fields do NOT show up when viewing or editing a SharePoint item.

 

I have checked, rechecked, resaved, republished, refreshed - to no avail.  I can see the fields when I'm in PowerApps and editing the forms and even when I click the PLAY button, but still they do not show from SharePoint after publishing.

 

What am I missing?

 

  • StaceyLaney : (1) Make sure your Form is connected to the Data Source, of course

    (2) Click on the Form and make sure you click on the Form itself not the controls (you will see the form resize borders highlighted in BLUE color

    (3) Click on the "Properties" tab in the "EDIT" pane (located on the Right side of the screen) 

      (a): The "Data Source" should appear in the dropdown box if you are connected

    (4) The "Default mode" dropdown box should be changed to the value "New"

    (5) Now click on the "Preview" button. This worked for me. I guess when you are connected to a Data Source you are basically just adding records to that Data Source.

    Figured you did the right thing and it sounds like all the steps are there.

     

    The only sort of possible solution I can think of is to try and restore to an earlier version of the app, and then restore the new one again. 

     

    Some users have reported that this method has helped them, though I don't know how that happens in the background.

    Hi StaceyLaney 

     

    Just to cover the bases, have you:

     

    1. Added the fields to the SP list (you only mentioned that it was added to the form though I assume you would have added the corresponding fields in the list)

    2. When you edit the form, have you tried using the Customize with PowerApps button to see if the missing fields shows when you do that?

      Yes, and Yes. 

       

      I added the columns in SharePoint first, then added the fields to ALL form screens (New, View, Edit) - they're marked as NOT visible on the New form.

       

      And I'm using the Customize Forms option directly from the SharePoint list, PowerApps only opens FROM the SharePoint list and once opened, the PowerApps View and Edit screens show the fields in edit and play mode just fine.  I save and republish the PowerApps, go back to SharePoint, open an existing item and the 2 fields added do not show, nor do they show if Edit All clicked.
