Permissions - How to restrict the deletion?
Dear Community I want my team to be able to add tasks and not be able to delete them. This will prevent anyone from deleting tasks. How can I do this? From the list of tasks, I can granularly restrict the tasks, meaning that TEAM 1 will see some tasks and not all of them. Thank you in advance192Views0likes1CommentWhere is Planner Hub, Calendar View, Connect to Outlook
What am I missing here? It seems that Planner no longer has a way to view multiple plans and tasks in a calendar. Previously you were able to plan days and the week by seeing multiple projects at one time. It also appears that there is no way to connect Planner to Outlook any more. What??? Seriously?? What is Microsoft thinking here? Just when things were literally starting to actually work together they roll back integration. Dear Microsoft: Integration is key for your ecosystem. I need to be able to use Planner to Plan. I need plans to show up in Todo and I need plans to show up in Outlook. I need them to look similar and have cross functionality. I need Teams to be integrated with all the other apps as well. MS Loop is promising but the lack of integration is astonishing. I can't even get it to show up in Teams. Great that I can add Planner to MS Loop but I can't add Loop to Teams (???). What about Onenote being able to add to Loop. I take hand written notes in Onenote. I can easily add my Onenote Notebook to Teams but I can't add to MS Loop???? Adding MS Loop to Onenote, I guess has some value - maybe, but the value is to be able to see my notebook INSIDE Loop without having to open up OneNote. Each app you created works and has specific functions but the integration needs to allow for seamless workflow instead of jumping around all over the place. I want to sit in planner to plan. But if I am in MS Loop and I am making notes from a meeting I want to be able to just access Planner within MS Loop (which I can and is great). But what if I have an email from a client that has a task within. Sure I can add it to ToDo..but you know what, now I have to do multiple steps to get into Plannner. Integration, integration, integration. Your ecosystem needs to work with high level cross functionality. And stop taking features away that are highly useable and improves workflow. Now I can't share Plans to my outlook???? seriously???? C'mon. This is why people leave your ecosystem. I have read in the forums that people are leaving to go Clickup because they focus on workflow. Personally, I think MS365 has promise and would prefer to stay here but you gotta listen to your customers on how they work and allow for workflows to happen and to customize to people's needs. But we can't work successfully if your products don't really talk to each other well. Your sole mission needs to be unrelentingly to help your customers work effeciently. If you can make me successful I will stay. It is the main reason people go to your competitors. Anything that can make work easier, more efficient, and allows us, YOUR customers, to be more successful will give your customers to stay in your ecosystem.20Views1like0CommentsTime off in MS Planner
Hi everyone. I'm searching for a way to set my team's days off so that the timeline adapt the scheduled times. In two attached images I'm trying to figure out how to customize resources calendar or a new work calendar template model. I read about this functionality for the oldproject for the web but found no way to implement it to planner: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/project-for-the-web/create-and-apply-a-work-calendar Any suggestions? Good morning, I was wondering if there was a way to show in the chart tab the number of tasks completed in a year. If I export my plan to excel I can see creation and completed date so I can get stats that way, but it'd be nice if on the chart tab it could be a filter to apply a custom date completed field to have a dashboard handy to see some stats quickly. Thanks!8Views0likes0CommentsSingle task to be done by multiple users
With Microsoft Planner, we can add multiple people to a single task, but if anyone of them marks it as complete the whole task will be marked as complete. But I would like to assign a task to my team which each of them needs to complete individually and I would like to keep a track of who has completed and who has not. Is this possible?Solved148KViews11likes32CommentsNew Planner stuck in dark mode and can't change per-plan backgrounds
Was changed to the new Planner today. I can't figure out how to get it back to light mode. Used to be able to change it in the webapp, but I can't see a feature for it. Also, each plan used to have its own background. That feature seems to have disappeared as well.2.8KViews16likes17CommentsChange date format on Planner (from US to Europe-LatinAmerica)
Hi everyone, Since the update on new planner I lost the "ability" of changing the date format from MM/DD to DD/MM only changing the "en-us" to "en-gb" in the address from the browser. Now the address changed and I'm suffering with this american date format. Any way to change this to DD/MM?27Views0likes0CommentsAutomated task creation in Premium plan
Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible to automatically create a Planner Premium task from a Teams post. I've spent a day trying to bottom this out, and I've had no luck. I tried using PowerAutomate with the Dataverse connector, but it seems like adding a new row to the Project Tasks table in Dataverse isnota supported way to create new tasks. If this is supported, is there documentation on how to do this? This is a very simple process in Basic plans - doesn't make sense that it's so hard to do this in a product I'm paying for!Solved564Views3likes5CommentsPlanner Premium + Power Automate
Not sure if others have experienced this as well, but I am having trouble accessing my planner premium plans in power automate. I’ve come to learn that the Planner actions in power automate do not support planner premium. Instead, the Microsoft Project actions, which are far less useful, support Planner Premium. I was really hoping to use planner premium and power automate together, and so far am deeply disappointed - especially after having waited for my companies admin approval for the tool. Anybody have an workarounds?1.2KViews2likes3CommentsTurning off Email notifications....
Hi there, we have users that complaine about too much EMails send by the Planner App in teams. For instance, they do receive an email every time someone adds a comment to a task, where they are members. And they claim that this is only since last week or so. They want that to be turned off. But I cannot find where it could be located? Can anyone help. Thanks a Million Berthold88Views0likes1CommentPlanner Plan Backup Resolved
Just wrapped up an excellent nightly backup solution for your Plans! This Power Automate system captures your entire Microsoft Planner Plan, including checklist items, assigned names, dates, labels, and priorities, and generates a dated backup Excel file in SharePoint. Saying goodbye to worries about accidentally deleted tasks or plans . Additionally, I'm nearly finished with a backup import trigger that will generate a new Planner Plan with any of this nightly generated back up files as needed. I'm also exploring the option of incorporating comments into the backup file soon. Certainly know a way to make it happen! This automation is part of a larger course/solution package I'm developing. Other upcoming features include automatic assignment of unique project codes (you can catch a glimpse of it in the title column), auto-assignment of staff based on labels (for instance, if your yellow label is labeled Marketing, it automatically assigns everyone in marketing when used), working comment notifications and more. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on this backup solution, and if enough people want it just @mention me in the comments below. Suggestionsalso always welcome!7.9KViews7likes23CommentsNew Office 365 Group not shown when creating new Planner Plan
Our organization created a new Private Office 365 Group (not a Team) but when creating a new Planner Plan this group is not shown as an option to assign the Plan to. We've created Private O365 Groups previously that are not Teams and were able to create new Plans associated to those teams. What would be different or what other settings have limited this group from showing up?32KViews0likes18CommentsMS Planner: Ability to assign sub-tasks?
Hi there, We are using Planner and was hoping to find a way to assign sub-tasks within a task to specific team members. This way, we don't need to track dozens of tasks for one project. We are also not interested in created a Planner for each project, because some projects may only be 1-3 tasks that need to be worked on by multiple team members. We are using the checklist feature and assigning multiple people to a task, manually typing their name in the checklist - but this is not a great tool, as it leaves room for a lot of human error, unable to assign deadlines for checklist items, and we can't@ team members in the comments in a task. Is this possible or at least in the pipeline for Planner? Other project mgmt tools offer this, so I can't find a reason why Planner would skip this entirely. I am hoping I am just missing something.27KViews9likes7CommentsFrustrations with the New Planner Update
I was looking forward to the new Planner update, but instead of improvements, I’m seeing several changes that have negatively impacted my team’s workflow. Here are the main issues: "Assigned to Me" View: Previously, this view acted as a personal Planner automatically grouped by buckets, which was really helpful. Now, it’s been replaced with a simple list view, and the "Schedule" view for personal tasks has also been removed. Copying Plans: In the previous version, we could copy a plan and retain all the tags we'd created. Now, when copying a plan, the tasks no longer retain these tags, and when attempting to reassign them, the tags aren’t available in the copied plan. These changes have made it more challenging for us to manage tasks effectively. Is there any way to revert to the previous version of Planner or enable these features again?1.4KViews23likes27CommentsCan't add Planner plan (basic or premium) to General Channel Teams Tab
I have the new Planner. I've created a basic and a premium plan in Planner via the Teams interface and added to a group (my Team). When I go to my Team and try to add a tab at the top of the General Channel for these Planner Plans, they do not show up in "Use an existing plan from this team", even though in Planner it says the plan is Shared with my Teams Team. I am an owner and member of the group/Team. Is this functionality not available yet? If I go to tasks.office.com and create a new blank (basic) plan there (instead of creating via the Planner app in Teams), then I CAN add to my Teams General Channel as this basic plan appears in the 'Use an existing plan from this team'.1.2KViews2likes3CommentsRoadmap Add premium capabilities to Planner
From the roadmap of planner and features that are launching, does anyone know how you can tell if your tenant has got it yet? I assume since i cannot see any of the premium features that are mentioned that we have not been updated yet?
