Grey headings
I have been referred to here, as a Microsoft Community Support Specialist was not able to help me. I often tidy up my inbox, which means I have few emails from one period, but many email from a longer period of time. This was not a problem with Windows 10 on my old PC, but my new PC has Windows 11, which means that I am forced to have grey headings coming across my inbox for each date interval (I prefer to have my emails filtered by date of arrival. My question is a very small simple thing: How do I remove these grey headings? I have surfed the internet, but there is no solution out there. How do I get my view to look like this (my view from my old pc with Windows 10). As you can see, there are no grey heading stribes going across several places. It is much calmer. More peaceful. I get nerves looking at the the stribes in Windows 11. I want to be able to choose for myself what the apearance of my inbox, sent, and subfolders should be. I notice that the Deleted emails folder does not have these grey headings. So it is possible. I thank you in advance.HmdanJan 14, 2025Occasional Reader2Views0likes0CommentsYammer Emails in Other Inbox
Today, all of my Yammer notifications show up in my Focused inbox. I would like all Yammer emails to appear in the Other inbox. However, for some reason they decided that every Yammer email comes from a different randomized email which makes it much harder to manage. If I select to "Always move to Other inbox" because Yammer invents a new email address for every notification. I can create a Rule for all Yammer notifications, but there is no Action to move an email to Other inbox. How can I get my Yammer notifications to go to Other inbox?BMyersJan 13, 2025Copper Contributor5.2KViews3likes5CommentsMeeting series disappearing after declining single item
Hi, There's been an issue with reocurring meetings which I can't seem to find a solution to. When declining a single item of a meeting series - e.g. canceling it for a vacation - the whole series disappears from the calendar. This affects the Outlook Calendar as well as the Teams Calendar and local calendar apps such as the Samsung Calendar App.The user isn't removed from the meeting, it just isn't shown in the calendar apps. Does anyone have a similar issue? I've not been able to find a solution on the Internet anywhere. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you very much! I have a straightforward installation of Office 365 on Windows 11. Usually there's not much else running except Google Chrome and sometimes a large Excel workbook or small-ish Word douments or a photo editor. 6 months ago I started getting messages that Outlook had run out of shared resources and that I should close any messaging applications. I wan't able to fix it that way and had to restart Windows to get Outlook going again. Then the problem went away - I am not aware of any system or application changes around that time. A week ago it came back again and now it forces me to do a restart every few hours, sometimes more often, which is a real pain. How can I set about diagnosing the cause ? The only relevant thing I have thought of is to check RAM usage but I always seem to have at least 7GB free out of 16GB in total. The only clue I have is an odd thing - my Outlook syncs email from 4 email providers and I set one of the 4 inboxes to be the default to be open when Outlook opens. After the resource problem crops up, Outlook always defaults to one of the other email inboxes at startup. When there isn't the resource problem, Outlook is behaving just fine. Where should I start ?MartinGMJan 12, 2025Copper Contributor18Views0likes1CommentUnraveling the future of POP3 on Outlook email accounts
Does 365 allow POP3 email? For email, I use the Outlook 2016 desktop client with POP3. This client software reportedly ends in about 15 months. Is there any way I could stay with both POP3 and Outlook email after next year, other than by using third party clients like Thunderbird or Em-Client? Is it correct that 365 Outlook does not, or soon will not, support POP3 for Outlook email? [I assume outgoing Windows Mail and now Outlook for Windows excludes POP3.]TF_950Jan 12, 2025Copper Contributor281Views0likes1CommentNew Outlook download to local PST and delete from server
Classic Outlook, automatically downloads email to a local PST file and deletes it from the server using POP3. New Outlook already has POP3 support and I have read that PST folder support with read/write capabilities is being added soon. So my question, will New Outlook allow users to have all emails from POP3 automatically downloaded to a PST file, or must they be manually moved from the server to a PST by the user, once PST support is fully implemented?StanleyQJan 12, 2025Copper Contributor9Views0likes0CommentsInsert emails into email body
So as you can see from above. I double click to edit an email. After that I need to insert in the text body the sender and the CC. FOr example here the sender is Daniel. WHat I need is a way to copy all the emails in 1 click, so I can add them immediately in the body of the email. Sometimes if there are like 10 people in CC it takes too long. How I do it, is I copy each one of them manually. BUt there is a problem, cuz I also need to edit the text, copying it like that,, will result in <makering manager daniel.companyn.com> This means that for each person I need to edit each email address.CvrkJan 11, 2025Copper Contributor7Views0likes0CommentsExchange account only works every second time after opening MS Outlook
Hi gurus, I've had a lot of trouble with an account in MS Outlook. I'm running six email accounts, all are Exchange based. Five run perfectly, one is a nightmare. I've deleted .ost files, rebuilt profiles, pretty much everything I could find through a comprehensive Google search that may have been of assistance. Sadly, nothing has yielded a result. I am running Windows 11 on 64 bit PC, Outlook 16 (Version 2312). I have no other mail apps setup. Currently, when I open Outlook, the trouble account will give the error message "Cannot expand the folder" when I click on it in the left pane. If I restart Outlook, it will work perfectly. If I restart outlook a second time, the error will reappear. If I restart Outlook a third time, it will work again... etc. The problem seems to occur every second instance that Outlook is started, then clears every other. The only thing "outside the norm" I can think of that may have had an impact, is that I renamed the account display names using MFCMAPI. This has worked fine for the five other accounts, which were also renamed at the same time. It is worth noting that at one point, even after several restarts of Outlook and the PC itself, the Email would show in the left hand pane, but would not appear under File > Account Settings. It is showing again now though - I dont believe I made any changes that would have prompted it to reappear? Also worth noting is that looking at the profile through MFCMAPI, the trouble account is shown twice. Once with the original name, once with the new name. All other operational accounts are only shown once, under their new name. I have deleted the .ost file several times to allow a rebuild. Possibly worth noting all other accounts that are working have multiple .ost files for the same account (three each), however the trouble account only has one .ost file associated with it. One other email out of the six shares the same domain as the trouble email. It is working fine. I'm at an absolute loss, and have no idea where to turn for trouble shooting from here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!monaroenergyJan 11, 2025Copper Contributor527Views1like1CommentNew Outlook Working Offline Phase 1: Rolled Out with Limitations
