Storage Sense and Sharepoint Shortcuts

In the Storage Sense settings, you can configure retention for any SharePoint folder that you've got synced and for your OneDrive folder itself. SharePoint shortcuts aren't listed. My assumption would be that the OneDrive setting applies to SharePoint shortcuts as well. Is that assumption correct?
