Photos in Album
I've been trying to experiment with using OneDrive for Business (Education) as a photo album - we have a number of courses that have a lot of images, so having a searchable resourcce that's tagged etc,. would be ideal. However, all my reading of help pages would suggest that the album features available in OneDrive for personal use isn't yet available for Business users. What other solutions have people found (preferably as easy as possible from a technical point of view) Thanks.EmmadukewJan 25, 2025Copper Contributor6.5KViews2likes7CommentsSlow OneDrive uploadspeed!
For a few years i used an university MS-account with 2TB OneDrive storage. Now these cooperation runs out and i made my own MS account with those 1TB OneDrive storage. I have like ~500GB of data in that old OneDrive and right now try to copy everything to my new personal one... But the uploadspeed is horrible! Referring to speedtests I have like 50Mbit/s (Ethernet so quite stable) so ~ like 6.25MB/s upload. The maximum onedrive reaches is like 1.5MB/s.... and in average i get like 750kB/s... My PC is already running for 2 days... Do you have any idea to solve this problem or is this just something i have to accept? Is it possible that institutions like universities have better uploadspeeds, or are just prioritized and so on? Thanks in advance! Hi, Our company's OneDrive seem to take way too long to sync files back and forth to our Sharepoint Document Library. E.g. when creating a new file or folder it just sits at "Looking for changes" for about 30-60 seconds or more before anything happens. The upload/download speeds seems ok though, it's just very slow to identify changes made to the document library. The full library consists of about 40.000 files at a size of 40 GB. However, we have the same problem for the personal OneDrive folders as well, which often contains close to nothing. The default setting for all our employees is to access files through the cloud (not enabling a local sync of the entire library). Except for automatically cached docs and perhaps a very few selected folders. The slow sync is in turn often creating worse sync issues when opening and starting to edit, before the first copy has been created in the cloud. Is this just what I should expect from Microsoft, or does anyone know how to improve this?SolvedTormod Solem SlupphaugJan 24, 2025Iron Contributor45KViews1like17CommentsOne Drive processing over 75K changes (Macintosh)...
This morning I noticed my One Drive folder in my DocK start to "jump" every 10 seconds or so. I investigated and the One Drive app was processing over 75K changes. I have not touched any file on my One Drive in a few weeks. I upgraded to the latest Mac OS Sequoia Beta about 1 week ago (not the one that just came out yesterday). This is odd behavior, IMHO. It doesn't look like there are any changes to the files, or changes to the update dates. I believe if MS or Apple changed something in the meta data of a file, that that changes might cause this behavior. Or if you "reset" OneDrive. In either case it is processing changes that are really not changes to the files, correct? I also read that MS is adding (unwanted in my opinion) AI features to 365. Could that be causing some behind the scene changes? Weird. BryanbschmiedelertempconnetJan 24, 2025Copper Contributor35Views0likes2CommentsTagging Photos Across Logins
I have photos in shared folders that I'm having problems tagging (or seeing tags) across different OneDrive accounts using the desktop app. I can add & see tags in some, but not others and vice versa. Some photos won't allow me to add tags at all. I have checked to make sure the files accept tags, tried multiple computers loggged into the same OneDrive account as well as those I've shared the file with and can't seem to find how/when I'm given the "permission" to add tags or not. Also odd that sometimes the tags show up across devices/accounts while others don't. Please help!mgalex85Jan 24, 2025Copper Contributor1View0likes0CommentsNew unlicensed OneDrive user accounts policy

So recently I started noticing SharePoint process in working in background. (I used procexp.exe app). I don't have SharePoint installed on my computer, so I clicked on it and looked it's path in properties. It took me to "Microsoft OneDrive" folder, but the process .exe file was in folder with a lot of nums in it's name. Name looks like a.b.c.d (a, b, c, d are some numbers) So this folder has 2 folders with nums in the name, first one has only one file, while second has a lot more folders, dll files, some .exe and some other types, and the Microsoft.SharePoint.exe which is the process exe file I saw in procexp. While I don't really use any Microsoft apps (I only use Word, where I have autosave option disabled). And, as I mentioned, I don't have SharePoint installed, so it's the only app with that name on my pc. This program is signed by Microsoft, so I am sure it's not a malware. So I have 2 questions: 1) What can this program do in my pc (procexp says it is in LISTENING mode) ? 2) How to disable it, or, at least, disable autostart?valentyn1Jan 20, 2025Copper Contributor9Views0likes0CommentsOneDrive Application keeps processing large number of files even if it is not syncing
We have a cloud file storage that we plan to migrate to SharePoint sites. One of the sites that I copied to test performance has approx. 550 GB and 320K files (total storage has 5.2 TB and 1.1 million files). I opened SharePoint site and clicked button to add to OneDrive but didn't click sync button. I want to see folder structure in Windows Explorer but don't want to download files. The problem is that OneDrive Windows app keeps processing forever consuming a lot of CPU and memory. Most of us work on laptops and OneDrive app seems to restarting processing every time laptop is started, so it can't finish during the day. My users want accept browsing files using a web browser, so client app is an only option for me. Am I hitting a limit of OneDrive app?MichalMindykJan 20, 2025Copper Contributor26Views0likes0CommentsOneDrive link not working once shared
When sharing a video over OneDrive to someone else, once the other person gets the link...it just open the thumbnail and says wait for browser to start downloading..and it just stays this way for infinity. Workaround for this is to create folder, and share the folder instead. Tried same video over google drive it works without issue. This was a problem for me like a year ago. Is there some reason for this?KnileJan 20, 2025Copper Contributor13Views0likes0CommentsOneDrive stuck on "signing in"
Hi, I'm trying to use Onedrive and Onenote, but it seems to be really terrible 50% of the time. Sometimes when I log on my pc, it says I have to log in, and in doing so, is stuck on a "signing in" loop, until it says some error code about me not having an internet connection. Here's what I've tried: 1. Close and open Onedrive 2. Removing auth from the pc and adding it again 3. Reinstalling Onedrive 4. Change Wi-Fi 5. Do a /reset in Windows run AND cmd 6. Update drivers 7. Install the newest Onedrive from the website 8. Try the app-version found in Windows Store What am I supposed to do? I don't want to restart my pc every time it doesn't work, that's a terrible fix.magluJan 20, 2025Copper Contributor263KViews3likes45Comments
