Recovering Files Lost After Changing OneDrive Folder Location
I lost my files on OneDrive after restoring the location to default. Here’s what happened: I set the Desktop location back to its default to remove the "OneDrive" keyword from the path. I clicked "OK" despite some warnings. As a result, all my folders on the Desktop disappeared. When I checked the OneDrive website, the files weren’t there either (I suspect the OneDrive sync hadn’t completed before I made the changes). How can I resolve this issue and restore my files?
Opening OneDrive files from Finder on Mac does not enable Autosave like on Windows.
Hello all. I am having an issue with using OneDrive on Mac. If I open a file, say a Word doc or PowerPoint, on OneDrive through Finder, the Autosave feature will not be on by default. If I do the same action on Windows through file explorer, it opens with Autosave turned on. When I try to turn on Autosave in Word, it prompts me to upload a new version onto OneDrive. This would make a new copy. And that new copy, if opened from Finder, still will not have autosave turned on. However, when I open the file from within the Word application or Excel or PowerPoint, autosave is turned on automatically. I would like for files opened from my OneDrive folder in Finder to open with Autosave turned on by default. This is how it works on Windows.
Recent files
Recent files show files have been accessed today within minutes of this message. I have not accessed these files in most cases in months and in some cases years. I have tried Microsoft support but they haven't been able to help. Example: I have a word document called AC placement. I have not opened that document in more than a month. In the Recent area it shows that I accessed that document at 3:20 PM today, minutes before this post. I have excel document callled Sprinklers which I have not opened in 6 months. It lists ti as opened on 10/19/2023 at 12:10 PM. I am trying to understand if there is a probelm with oneDrive or is someone else accessing my documents through oneDrive.
How to delete old OneDrive folder from computer
Previously, I used OneDrive with one account and have now unlinked that account from OneDrive. After that, I deleted the OneDrive app on my computer and reinstalled the OneDrive app and logged into the new account. However, I cannot delete the old OneDrive folder from my computer. It keeps giving me errors and won't let me delete it. Please help me and show me how to delete the old OneDrive folder
Remove 'desktop' links permanently
Hi All I already tried searching Google for it, but I can't find info on how to remove obsolete OneDrive icons from the desktop (Bureaublad). In this 'explorer' view I have in the tree the 3 working OneDrive folder links. However on the 'desktop' (Bureaublad) view I see old obsolete icons eg. 'CEAN B.V. (32 bits)'. When I right-click I get the option to delete (verwijderen) and it will be removed. It will however re-appear after refreshing the view. So how do I remove it permanently? Is it something in the Registry? If yes, where to look for it. I cannot find any settings in OneDrive itself. Thanks for any suggestion. With kind regards LudoPhoto comments not backup to OneDrive
I frequently add comments/descriptions to the pictures in my Android and iPhone, however after spending a few nights backing up my albums, I found out only the photo files are uploaded and no comments are included. Is there a way to upload with comments or is that a limitation of OneDrive?Get a link to share without email
This is incredibly frustrating and clearly data harvesting by microsoft. I want to share files to clients, in onedrive select the file, right click>onedrive>share None of the options in here allow me to just get a link to send to somebody. It makes onedrive sharing useless to me. I am not entering client emails into microsoft it serves no purpose other than data harvesting as far as I can tell. Is there any work around for this, other than don't use onedrive which is becoming a real possibility!
Modification loss in excel files hosted on OneDrive
On December 4th I discovered losses of modifications in some files. When opening an Excel file I often work with, I was suprised since I was sure I added some lines into it a few days ago. I looked at version history and found a strange behaviour on December 4th: several versions on 29th November 15:06 with the same size. One of the 3 versions of 29th November 15:06 seem to be the latest in terms of modifications, even the size was similar. So I manually recovered this one. I did the same on a 2nd excel file to confirm the issue. Other files may be impacted. How can that happen? Could it be a ntp issue leading OneDrive not to know which version is the latest? I opened a case at MS support, but they closed the case w/o resolution. They even didn't try to understand the issue, just sending a TN how to restore a version of a file. But first I need to identify all the impacted files, then to find the correct version. I can't do these actions manually on hundred or maybe thousands of files. How could I proceed? Do u think it is related to Excel or OneDrive or to sthg else?
