One of customers is using remote desktop services with Windows Server 2012 R2.
Do they have any chance of deploying our MSIX packaged app? I think they can't do anything because that is equivalent to Windows 8, right?
So they would have to upgrade to 2019 or a virtual Windows 10 might help them, I guess.
Any guidance on what the easiest path is to make MSIX work in this environment?
Could they use MSIX-App Attach somehow?
Thanks!

MSIX is only supported on Windows Server 2019 and later as the fully managed deployment stack for Servers.
MSIX app attach is a newer feature for Windows Virtual Desktop and will be supported for Windows Server 2022.
There is an option to leverage MSIX Core for these down-level OSes. MSIX Core allows the ability deploy an MSIX on earlier OSes, but works more like an MSI.

@John Vintzel did you get a solution for your project? I’m trying to figure out how to use MSIX/ app attach on a server 2022 RDS host but not able to find any documentation.

@Jacobegan
Did you try MSIX Core? Also, did you mean Win Server 2012 instead of 2022?

@Aniket_Banerjee 2022, I was able to figure it out using scripts to attach, register, etc.
