Hi Microsoft, would you please remove the 15 minutes limit on screen capture on Microsoft Stream ?

Thank you.

We've done several of these and the feature is handy, but the resolution on the resulting videos is horrible.

Hi @ChrisKnowlton ,

im glad to see that this is under review. What I would like to understand is that if you hold a teams meeting , and record your screen / meeting / session, for an unlimited time, it uploads to Stream none the less ? So why cut the screen recordings to only 15 mins when you can record for hours on a meeting and it uploads to stream ? I’m finding it hard to understand why limit the recording to 15 mins only ? Please advise ?

We're having to use GoToMeeting or other platforms for screen recording when we want to record training modules outside of meetings.  Ultimately these videos will end up in MSstream, so cutting out the 15-minute limit would be a great feature.

Totally agree with this request. 15 minutes is insufficient for any type of meeting or presentation. At least 30 minutes blocks would be necessary to cover a agenda topic.

Also a way of simultaneously upload the video while recording would be nice, if the user decides to discard  the video, the system just needs to delete the uploaded video.

I have only just started using stream and was disappointed to see the 15 minute limit. we have a monthly team meeting that we want to record and share across the teams SharePoint for those who cant attend.

15 Minutes seems crazy limit and should be something that can be controlled by the company administrator to allow users different limits.

Is there a timeline on changing this?

Truly, this renders recording direct from Stream useless in an enterprise setting. I'm working around by recording in Teams, downloading from OneDrive, and uploading to Stream for the benefit of timestamps / transcripts / option to embed forms / better audits.

That underlined bit is the definition of jumping through hoops.

Stream is good. Please make utilizing it more pragmatic.

45m - 1hr limit would be okay, but 15m is a dealbreaker.
