Adding 20 or 50 existing videos to a channel or group is a mind-numbing chore if I have to do it one video at a time. I need a way to select and add multiple existing videos to a channel or group in a single action - just like dragging and dropping multiple files into a folder.

Is there any way to do this?

Very interesting with Stream, and the ability to upload .MXF files is just amazing.

Do you plan on easier handling of multiple videos at the same time?
I'm thinking of selecting, deleting and setting of ownership of the videos.

At the moment, Stream allows you to only change the settings of individual videos. This may cause a problem when you want to migrate an entire channel in or out of a group. I would have to edit each video to change the location and permissions of who can view/edit, which could potentially be time-consuming if you have a lot of videos in a channel.

It would be great if you could select all the videos in a channel and change all the permissions/location in one go to save time.

Please, this is a must for anyone like myself who was forced into migrating 300+ videos out of Office Mix into Stream. I cannot go through those videos one by one, that is not a good use of my time and I will not use Stream until bulk actions are available.

After uploading about 100 videos to Stream - I see they are all assigned a default group.

I would like to be able to reassign these in bulk.

Is there a screen or view I can go to where I see the video link and group and I can select / deselect groups?

Or better yet can I download a spreadsheet of the name and groups in excel - edit and then reupload to reassign?

Thanks

Need the ability to select all videos in a channel and bulk delete them.

As a Stream Admin, I was tasked to delete a number of videos from a channel. I couldn't identify a way to delete multiple files at once, so I was deleting them individually. After deleting File A from Channel B, I wasn't taken back to the Channel B, but taken to a view of videos I have uploaded. I should remain in the same channel/screen I was previously on when deleting the file.

I am with you on this one. 600+ movies needed to be added to group .... Needless to say, i am a bit frustrated with it.

I miss this feature a lot. We have hundreds of videos, and recently when it was decided to disable comments, I had to do it one by one. Batch changes would be so appreciated.

Hi all,

there is no multi select feature, which is really annoying, if you have to rearrange multiple videos into channels or groups or to delete several videos in one action. I don't understand it, that there is no multi-select feature, because it is absolute obvious, that with more than just a few videos, the time effort and annoying-factor is way to high if you can only deal with one video at once.

I have to deal with dozens / hundreds of videos... and I'm pretty sure, that a lot of companies have to deal with such a number as well - so please be so kind and try this use case on your own... you'll see that I'm right with that feature demand.

There is also no PowerShell API to come around the missing multi select feature.

Kind regards,
Daniel

I really like to have option to manipulate multiple videos at once. Select multiple videos in list or search result and add to channels, groups, etc ...

Currently I have to do this by one after other

Same way download multiple videos at once

Upvoting for the multiple deletes and changes feature

Please make the bulk uploading and setting of permissions a priority.

One member of staff here has over 500 videos which they have sole ownership of (despite training them to make groups the owners!).  If they leave, I do not wish to be the one to have to go and edit all the permissions on a video by video basis.

Our school has thousands of videos on Stream now (after taking a lot of convincing to embrace it) and the lack of bulk update actions are becoming an increasing worry.

Upvoting for the multiple deletes in PowerShell or so.

Everything in Stream seems really nice except for the tools available to manage videos.  Being able to organize groups of videos at one time is a must.

This was proposed over 2 years ago and would really be helpful.

Is there any chance this will actually get done?

Barring that, if I could just right-click and open each video permissions in another tab, that would be an incremental help. The edit icons on https://web.microsoftstream.com/studio/videos are button elements instead of wrapped anchor tags (why?).  Making the link all javascripty was additional work (and cost) and diminished usability to fit inside some webapp.

The problem I have is that I need to change the permissions on 10s of videos (and add group membership), but have a hard time keeping track of which I've editted and which I haven't, when I have to open each property set in place.

This is incredibly annoying.

We just have the same Problem. We will change the permission of multiple Videos. We have to change the permission of every single Video. No possibility to change a range of Videos.

Want to use Stream for delivering and managing the considerable amounts of organisation video we have, but the lack of batch operations vs other apps (e.g. Kaltura) are a limiting factor.

I do not understand, why this idea is not voted much more often. Is Stream a niche product still? Doesn't seem so if you track the frequency of tweets around Stream.

@microsoft: please add this really crucial feature as soon as possible!

Really finding this application to be interesting, in particular the ability to create channels and integrate with existing Groups. With that said as I build the content, it's becoming less and less appealing. Bulk editing is critical to effective management of the groups, videos, and channels going forward.

Any updates on when this may become available?

Sadly, i have now started to look for alternatives. I love Stream, but as a user with many videos, this is becoming ridicolous. I will follow this thread, but as i said, i will probably move to something else.

Has anyone voted for this on uservoice?  Maybe it would get more traction there

Uservoice? Link please?

I would really appreciate the function to add multiple videos to a channel too. It‘s really annoying to do it one by one.

Occasional Visitor

Have to agree on this. During this CV lockdown when children are studying from home its highlighted some shortfalls in Teams and Stream - this is one of them.

Occasional Contributor

Really surprised this functionality still hasn't been implemented.  It's really needed.

Occasional Contributor

I agree, it would be much appreciated if Microsoft could help. I actually wonder why this idea is open for more than two years and not upvoted more. Are bulk actions that specific? Yes, they are crucial when dealing with huge amounts of videos. But even when dealing with only five videos they save lots of clicks. We should promote this more!

We are considering using Microsoft Teams.

We are concerned that the capacity of Microsoft Stream will be taken up if we use the recording feature for our meetings.

The above concern can most likely be avoided by having an automatic delete feature that will be processed every half year or so, so please implement such a feature.

I agree, atleast even if the UI doesn't have support create a powershell medium for atleast updating policies and removing/deleting the vedios.

Please add this functionality to your roadmap on 2020. The video lists are growing and the need for bulk updates is increasing. Please do not let us struggle and update hundreds of videos one by one. Thank you!
