MFA licensing for admin accounts
Does an admin require a license for MFA in Azure Ad? So far I have found in Microsoft documentation that MFA for Global Administrators is free. However, what about other admin roles like SharePoint Admin, Exchange Admin, User Account Admin. If a custom conditional access policy targets these admin roles, do the user accounts holding these roles need an AAD premium license?
I believe it applies to all admin roles, but as with all licensing questions, best ask your local Microsoft representatives directly, or open a support case.
