General question about browser sign-in with Windows Hello for Business

Iron Contributor

If Windows Hello for Business (passwordless) is setup correctly on my Windows Laptop, then am I able to sign-in into a browser session without needing a password?

(How to sign in here with WHfB?)

Click Sign in options and you should see the option to use FIDO2 Security Key or WHFB.

@Jonas Back this is what I see:

If I click on "Sign in with a security key" (WHfB is not mentioned, but I assume that's where it should be):

Then I selected the built-in sensor (I assume that the TPM chip is meant here). I get a selection of the accounts on my device:

I choose the company account and I'm prompted to input my WHfB PIN:

And then it fails in the last step:

Is this how it should work?

Does it happen on non-InPrivate mode window too?
Is your Windows Hello for Business properly set up?

Are you signed into Windows with the same M365 account that you set up WHFB for?

Yes, it's the same on non-InPrivate. What's the best way to verify if it's properly set up? We followed all the instructions, and did not encounter any errors.
Sorry I don't have that information right now but personal Windows Hello sign in (with Microsoft account in Edge) has always worked on my Windows 11 PC. I'd look into a policy that might be interfering or maybe try on another device too.
