Diacritics in users names

Copper Contributor

We get 21 errors in syncing our on-premise ADFS with Azure, because of diacritic charachters. When will this be resolved?

Jérôme Leônidas is an actual name of someone outside the USA. Unicode has been around since the 1980's. Catch up with the rest of the world please?!?

Unable to update this object in Azure Active Directory, because the attribute [Username], is not valid. Update the value in your local directory services. Tracking Id: xxxxxxxxx

The name is of course valid, but *some* attributes do not accept unicode characters. Refer to this article: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Prepare-to-provision-users-through-directory-synchronizatio...

Thanks Vasil. I don't see anything about diacticals, only this:

Invalid characters: \ % & * + / = ?  { } | < > ( ) ; : , [ ] “
