Active Directory Federation Services gains OpenID Certifications!

Howdy folks,   I am very pleased to report that ADFS for Windows Server 2016 has now been certified as conforming to the Basic OpenID Provider and Implicit OpenID Provider profiles of OpenID Connect – adding to its previous certification for the OpenID Provider Publishing Configuration Information profile. This is a very significant achievement, because these are the profiles that ensure that the identity provider will interoperate with any standards-compliant relying party.  See http://openid.net/certification/ .  Well done, ADFS team!

Microsoft is committed to identity systems interoperability and helped develop OpenID Connect and its certification program to help achieve that goal. OpenID Connect Certification is an important tool to help ensure that identity deployments from different vendors will "just work" together – a key part of the developer experience.
