Last week we launched #DevDecember, a collection of some of our favorite Azure and dev moments from 2019. We’ve had so much fun sharing these moments with you so far and can’t wait to get started on week 2!

This week in #DevDecember:

December 2ndDeveloper’s Guide to Azure

The best guide for staying up to date on the ever-evolving Azure services and features. The Developer’s Guide to Azure makes it easy to transfer your existing knowledge and skillset and apply them to Azure. It includes a variety of practical, real-world examples for web, data, containers, and serverless scenarios. The guide ranges from the basics to more in-depth topics, such as how to create innovative, interactive experiences by using machine learning and artificial intelligence in your apps. Read the guide ->

December 3rd: Tailwind Traders

We’ve created Tailwind Traders on GitHub as the go-to reference for developers looking to build intelligent application retail experiences. The Tailwind Trader app is powered by the Azure cloud, built with best-in-class tools, and made smarter through data and AI. Dig into six repos, five demo scripts, and four keynote videos, and it will soon feel like the holidays have come early. See the application ->

Plus, as a bonus you can also check out Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock that was first demoed at Microsoft Ignite by Scott Hanselman and friends. It’s a geeky sample app that demos a multi-language application built with Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code, deployed with GitHub Actions and running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). This app also uses Machine Learning and Azure Cognitive Services along with a multitude of languages (.NET, Node.js, Python, Java, and PHP). Check out the GitHub Repo ->

December 4th: Python for Beginners

This fun series of short videos provides a foundation for learning how to program in Python and, above all, makes it easy to get started for free! Learn the basics of Python code and common scenarios, plus get resources to learn more on your own. Watch the videos ->  or Get the sample code ->

December 5thImagine Cup

What happens when you challenge thousands of students across the globe to imagine innovative technologies? A variety of amazing tech solutions get developed—like the deep-learning, low-cost, and non-invasive blood glucose level monitor for diabetics that snagged the 2019 Imagine Cup trophy live on stage at Microsoft Build. Learn more ->

Microsoft Ignite, the biggest Microsoft conference for developers and IT pros alike is always an exciting time of year for new tech, product announcements, and learning. If you missed it this year or want to revisit some of the most gripping moments, check out some of the keynote highlights for inspiration and insight into what comes next. Watch ->

Sneak peek at December 7th: Visual Studio Live Share

Coding is more fun when you do it with others! Visual Studio Code’s Live Share feature is one of the easiest ways to collaborate in real time with other developers. This tutorial walks you through everything you need to know about Live Share, including how to use the Live Share viewlet, how to share a project, how to co-edit, and how to co-debug. Get started ->
