One day and six hours to download

Just bought a brand new 64bit laptop and with an internet connection of 64Mb per sec.  I paid and subscribed to Office 365 and tried to download the desktop apps. However, whilst all other website downloads are very fast, the laptop is telling me that the download is going to take 1 day and 6 hours which really is unacceptable. Is this usual for Microsoft at all? It's ridiculous as films take about five minutes.
