List view threshold - modern list and library

Hello Team,

Is the List view threshold of 5000 items not applicable for modern document library and lists?

The items seem to load only as you scroll down so it looks like this might not be applicable anymore.

AFAIK, the limit is still there...and we also have the promise that it will be relaxed at some point!
