Is there a way to hide Microsoft 365 apps for the end user?

Copper Contributor

Hello everyone,

We were wondering if there is a possibility to hide some M365 for the end users. For example, Sway has no additional value for us, so we wouldn't want to present it to end users. Does anyone here have any experience?

Depends on the app. In general, apps included/licensed as part of M365 cannot be hidden, apart by removing the corresponding service plan from the user's license (if such exists). For example, for Sway you should be able to remove it. But not all apps have matching service plans, or respect them for licensing.
I don't want to overshare but I can confirm that we were able to disable and do not see the app listed for
- Power Apps
- Power Pages
- Sway
...and others.

So what you want is doable.

I believe we started by restricting the licensing.
