Device Based Licensing

Recently was assigned a project that calls for device-based licensing. For some reason, the licenses were already purchased for the computers. The SKU is Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise. However, everywhere I look specifically states a SKU of Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (device).  Is this the actual license that is needed? The project is for a client that has 16 computers. Any information would be helpful as we go forward.
