Hi,

On May 19th, following the latest Security Update of macOS Catalina 10.15.7 and of Outlook for Mac to 16.62 (22051800) the application is not launching. The icon jumps up and down once in the Dock but the application does not start. Some seconds later, a crash report appears:

As I  cannot launch the application, I cannot access the in-app technical support, that over the years in my Beta Channel experience have proved to be very quick and responsive. Is there a way of reaching this highly responsive team through other means? I do have access to my mail accounts and the their current inboxes but I have lost access to my stored mail messages.

Similar problems have been reported by others. All have advised to the standard suggestions.

A couple of years back, a similar problem had appeared that was solved by an update that was done in a very short time.

Could you please provide a direct to the in-app support team?

Same problem myself. Completely uninstalled all office applications and reinstalled which was an older version that worked - until auto update installed 16.62 again

Following today's (May 24th) update on the Beta Channel to 16.62 (22052300), I was able to launch Outlook without any incident.

Thanks and regards,

Today Outlook suddenly forced me into the New Outlook interface, but it doesn't load any emails.

It's just stuck at the loading... screen.

What do I do?

@Refik_Telhan

As I am currently not able to reach the built-in support team of Outlook for Mac through my laptop that I regularly use due to this clash between Outlook for Mac 16.65 and macOS Catalina, I tried to fire Outlook on my Late-2012 Mac Mini (also on macOS Catalina).

Luckily, I had the Office 365 applications on the Current Channel. Being v16.64, all fired up properly. I have used the built-in support function with immediate response. After quite a bit of exchange, I was told to "downdate" to a previous stable version.

During this discussion I was told some crash reports are being processed indicating an incompatibility between the "New Outlook" interface of v16.65 and macOS Catalina. However, I was definitely in the Legacy mode when my problem appeared.

The support person simply claimed that there is no known incompatibility between Outlook 16.65 and macOS Catalina in Legacy mode. I have then provided him with the link to this discussion.

You may try resetting your Outlook preferences so that you pick Legacy mode during next launch.
