Currently, there is no ability to hide or show the task pane from the Office Javascript API.
We now support this for add-ins via the shared runtime, details here: Show or hide the task pane of your Office Add-in - Office Add-ins | Microsoft Docs
Great, but when will Outlook add-ins support this?
