Publishing an offer to App Source requirements

Hi Everyone,

We have a custom web app that we built outside Microsoft's echo system and would like to offer it through Microsoft's App source for customers, mainly to get leads and actual customers.

 

I went through the requirements documentation for publishing, but its not very clear if I would need to build the app specifically as an add on to one of Microsoft's products or can it be just a custom web app.

 

And would this requirement change if I want my customers to buy subscriptions through the store or not?
