MicrosoftISV Success FAQ: Developer access to Visual Studio
Q: If the subscriptions (provided as part of ISV Success) don't provide access to the product downloads or product key pages in the subscriber portal, how do the developers get access to Visual Studio?
A: There are two different authentication methods for Visual Studio.
Method 1: Activate it using a product key. Since downloads and keys are not available as part of ISV Success, this method is not viable for program participants.
Method 2: Sign into Visual Studio using your subscription sign-in credentials. The steps to use Visual Studio through sign-in authentication are:
- Visit the visualstudio.microsoft.com page.
- In the "Meet the Visual Studio family" section, select the version of Visual Studio you want using the "Download Visual Studio" drop-down list.
- When the download completes, install Visual Studio.
- Launch Visual Studio and sign in with the same credentials to which your Visual Studio subscription is assigned.
