"Who run the world? Girls!"  Join me and Shannon Kuehn and I take over Pierre's AZUpdate broadcast.  In case you didn't know, Shannon has a new role at Microsoft and will give us an update on all things Identity.

We will be going over some recent updates from the Microsoft realm like:

Rehydrating an archived blob to a different storage account is now Generally Available

Rehydrate Archive Blob
As long as the destination account is in the same region as your source, you can rehydrate an archived blob to a completely different storage account.  This is a great use case for copying production data into your development environment or by keeping your storage accounts separate (production vs backup). The target blob for the copy operation must be in an online tier (Hot or Cool). You cannot copy an archived blob to a destination blob that is also in the Archive tier.

Azure Purview is now Microsoft Purview

Azure Purview combines with Microsoft 365 Compliance
Microsoft created Microsoft Purview because Azure Purview and Microsoft 365 compliance were used together to ensure consistent application data and simplify understanding your sensitive data. It made sense to announce Microsoft Purview to bring Azure Purview and the Microsoft 365 compliance portfolio under one offering and brand for end users.  This enables governance across the entire dataset.  Watch the video to hear more.

Red Button Attack Simulation Testing

Microsoft announces new collaboration with Red Button for attack simulation testing

As DDoS attacks continue to rise, Microsoft has announce a partnership with Red Button, offering customers another choice DDoS attack simulation testing.  With this service, you get a dedicated team of experts to simulate real world Denial of Service attacks to assess your state of readiness.  This can also help identify gaps in your strategy and incident response.

Azure Managed Grafana in Preview

Enhance your data visualizations with Azure Managed Grafana

Grafana is an open-source analytics visualization tool that can combine metrics, traces, logs and other data from across and entire organization.  With the partnership of Grafana Labs, Microsoft is bringing Grafana dashboards to Azure and can integrate with Azure services and security.  There are built in dashboards and built in features including Azure Monitor, application insights and more.  Grafana allows you to aggregate all data in a single interface from multiple data sources (on-premises, Azure, other cloud environments)
