With IoT Hub message enrichment, you can stamp additional information and enrich messages egressed from IoT Hub. This simplifies downstream processing of data and reduces IoT service costs for customers because more information is contained in each message sent. Using message enrichments, you can stamp information from device twins, the IoT Hub name or any static string to device messages. Watch the demo below and try this tutorial.
IoT Hub messaging route to Azure Data Lake Store Gen2
ADLS Gen2 is designed specifically for enterprises to run large scale analytics workloads in the cloud, which makes it very attractive to our IoT customers. Customers and partners can utilize the existing route to storage (through CLI/PowerShell/Portal/ARM) to send messages to ADLS Gen2 accounts, which are hierarchical namespace-enabled storage accounts built on top of Blob storage. This was made possible by the GA of multi-protocol access for Data Lake Storage, which enables existing object storage applications and connectors to seamlessly access data stored in Data Lake Storage with no changes.
Device telemetry events from IoT Hub to Event Grid
IoT Hub integrates with Azure Event Grid makes it easier to send device telemetry events to Azure services as well as third party applications and specially enable serverless workflows. Along with device connected, disconnected, created and deleted events, IoT Hub also publishes device telemetry events on Event Grid. With this capability, IoT Hub expands the services data can reach, beyond the endpoints supported through message routing. New advanced filtering in Event Grid makes this feature extremely powerful for orchestrating event driven architectures. Watch the demo below and try this tutorial.
