We’re excited to share thatMicrosoft Teams Public Preview users can nowuse collaborative meeting notes. Collaborative meeting notes in Teams meetings Microsoft Teams is dedicated to offering features that make meetings more efficient. With Collaborative notes, meeting attendees can work together to create agendas, take notes, and generate action items. Loop components allow you to collaborate right inside a chat message in Microsoft Teams. Using the Collaborative notes Loop component, you can collaborate with others and keep everyone updated as notes as synchronized across all devices. Also note tasks assigned using Collaborative notes are automatically synchronized with To Do and Planner, providing an efficient way to manage tasks and streamline workflows. How it works Schedule a meeting from Teams and include an agenda To add a recurring, standing agenda to all meeting instances while scheduling in Teams, at the bottom of the form, click theAdd an agenda everyone can editoption. Join a Teams meeting and collaborate on meeting notes Click theNotesbutton in the toolbar. In theMeeting notespane, you can create an agenda in real time, or review the agenda if one has already been provided. You can also take notes and track tasks. When you’re assigned a task during the meeting, you’ll also be sent an email notification and the task is automatically synchronized with Planner and To Do. Follow up after a meeting All your Collaborative notes are Loop components that can easily be shared from your meetingacross Microsoft 365 like in Team chats and Outlook. The notes stay in sync as changes are made across apps. This fall, the integration of Loop components with OneNote will enable you to seamlessly incorporate your Collaborative notes into your OneNote notebooks. You’ll have the freedom to continue editing these notes within OneNote, helping you consolidate your meeting notes in a single, centralized notebook. To view your notes, click the filename you want in Teams. You can go toMicrosoft 365and search for the relevant meeting name to view your notes. Review tasks assigned to you All your assigned tasks are available in the Tasks app in Teams, as well as Planner and To Do, providing a consolidated view of your tasks. To view all your tasks or open Collaborative notes, in the Planner or To Do, click theAssigned to meoption. Known issues External and guest participants can’t access meeting notes before or during the meeting. If you @mention a user while editing Collaborative notes onMicrosoft 365, you’ll need to give access to users using theShare and notify You might see an error message: If you join a meeting with over 100 attendees. If you are an attendee of over 300 meetings that include tasks. NOTE:We have removed the previous Teams meeting notes solution. You can still download your previous wiki notes locally. Participants who didn’t create the notes may need to be granted access by the meeting creator. Known limitations Teams doesn’t support channel meetings, ad hoc Meet Now meetings, and 1:1 calls. Mobile clients are not yet supported—this is coming soon. Please follow the status on the roadmap for item128652 If the meeting owner is using a mailbox stored on an on-premise Exchange server, Collaborative notes can’t be added to the meeting at the time of scheduling. To add Collaborative notes, the meeting owner will need to first send the meeting invite, and then later add Collaborative notes. Availability To be able to use this feature, users need to be members of the Teams Public Preview and use the Windows, macOS or web (Edge, Chrome) Teams client. Other meeting participants are not required to be members of the Teams Public Preview. Currently in Microsoft Teams, when multiple users are in a Teams meeting in the same room, a feedback loop is created, causing an echo. With this update, if multiple users are participating with laptops from the same location, Teams will notify the user that another Teams device has been detected nearby and is already included with audio in the current meeting. Teams will automatically mute the microphone and speakers of the person that joined when a user joins with audio on. Flighting status Available to everyone in Public Preview channel. How to enable When a user attempts to join a meeting where other participants are already physically present in the same room, they will receive a notification upon joining. The notification will inform them that multiple individuals are already present in the meeting and that the speaker and microphone switch will be automatically turned off to prevent any audio echo. However, the user has the freedom to manually turn the switch back on at any time they desire. Description Microsoft Teams is introducing a new feature: Speaker view. This option can be selected from the view switcher within meetings, allowing users to effortlessly track the current active speaker. Speaker view is particularly effective in scenarios with a limited number of key speakers and a large audience, such as town halls, trainings, or lectures - especially from the student's perspective. The Speaker View offers several enhancements, including: Easy tracking of the active speaker: The view includes a primary area on the stage to focus on key participants in the meeting. Better visual clarity: The active speaker's video is rendered at a higher resolution. Equal representation for audio and video participants: All attendees are equally represented in the meeting, regardless of whether their video is enabled or disabled. Inclusive by default: This view utilizes 16:9 tiles, providing ample space to fully display hand gestures and body language. Predictable experience: The use of 16:9 tiles and consistent placement of audio and video participants on the same stage ensures a fluid experience. Users toggling their videos on or off do not cause the entire stage to be re-rendered. The main area designated for the active speaker is also utilized for shared content, enabling seamless transitions during presentations. Description Language interpretation will allow interpreters to convert what the speaker says into another language in real time without disrupting the original flow of delivery of the speaker. This will allow more inclusive meetings, where participants who may not speak the same language can fully collaborate with each other. Flighting status Available now for everyone in Public Preview. Organizer adds their interpreters to the invite list on the meeting creation form. In Meeting Options, the Organizer toggles “Enable language interpretation” ON, selects the interpreter they’ve invited, and then assigns the interpreters to a language pair. Note: Today, the interpretation option is available in the meeting options after the meeting has been created/saved. Once saved, open the meeting options in a browser and add/edit interpreters there. We are working on improving this create flow so you can edit interpreters directly on meeting page before saving. This updated experience will be out in preview soon. Participant experience listening to interpreters during a meeting Meeting Participant selects a language channel to listen to during a meeting that has interpretation enabled. After selecting a language to listen to, participants should hear the interpreter at a louder volume than the main speaker. Participants switch between language channels and listening to the main speaker. Interpreter experience When interpreters join a meeting, they should be able to immediately start interpreting for the meeting. Interpreters should hear the main speaker. How to enable Turn on Speaker Coach within your meeting. While you are in a meeting, you can turn on Speaker Coach. There are two ways to enable Speaker Coach: Clicking on the overflow menu (…) Select the overflow menu (…) button within your meeting call. Click on “Turn on Speaker Coach” By sharing content via PowerPoint Live Click on the share tray icon within your meeting. Select a PowerPoint presentation you want to display. Once your PowerPoint view has loaded, select the Speaker Coach button underneath your main slide. Once Speaker Coach is enabled, speak as you normally would during your meeting to see what kind of feedback, we have for you. Post meeting Speaker Coach report Once you are done with your meeting you can access your post meeting Speaker Coach report by Clicking on the notification that you received after your meeting ended Clicking on the chat from the meeting where you used Speaker Coach. There will be a tab called "Speaker Coach" in that chat will take you to your Speaker Coach report. Enable Speaker Coach for all your meetings. You can automatically turn on Speaker Coach for all your meetings in the Speaker Coach report from a previous meeting. On your report there will be a toggle (top right area) to "Automatically start Speaker Coach in meetings". Toggle the setting on to turn on Speaker Coach for all your meetings on that device. Known limitation: This setting is on a per machine basis and is reset on sign-out. The summary report after the meeting is also private and visible only to the user and not accessible by others within Microsoft, including your IT administrators. Known limitations Currently only the English language is supported. The Teams app language must be set to English, as well. Speaker coach is not supported for channel meetings or when starting a meeting using the "Meet now" option. If a user has disabled transcription’s speaker attribution in settings, they won’t be able to use speaker coach. This will greatly enhance the experience of users viewing screenshare. (Ability to zoom was previously only available using pinch-to-zoom gesture on a trackpad or other shortcuts.) How to enable While attending a meeting or call with an incoming screenshare, use buttons to zoom in, zoom out and restore the original size of the screenshare. Description Microsoft Teams now supports scenarios where call queue agents or designated auto attendant users need to adjust their greetings more frequently than a typical IT helpdesk could handle. The new feature to support user-managed call queue and auto attendant greetings allows Teams tenant admins to designate authorized users who are empowered to change greetings for call queues and auto attendants. The authorized users can update greetings without having to leave their Teams client. As background, in Microsoft Teams, call queues are waiting areas for callers, who are put on hold until an agent assigned to the queue is available to take their call. Auto attendants allow you to set up menu options to route calls based on caller input. Used together, auto attendants and call queues can easily route callers to the appropriate person or department in your organization. And now, designated authorized users can manage greetings from their Teams client, making the system even more flexible for your changing needs. Flighting status Available to everyone in Public Preview channel. How to enable A Microsoft Teams tenant admin must first designate Authorized users for the call queues and/or auto attendants. An authorized user is a Teams user who has been authorized by a Teams admin center administrator to make configuration changes to auto attendants and call queues. The user doesn't need to have access to the Teams admin center portal nor be assigned any administrative roles. For more information on how to do this, see Set up auto attendant and call queue authorized users - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn, and refer to the Examples section to see how to choose permission for each type of update. If you are a Teams user whom the tenant admin has already authorized follow these steps to update your greetings in Teams for your call queue and/or auto attendant, in your Teams client, go to the “…” menu in the upper-right of the main Teams window, and choose “Settings”. For auto attendant greetings updates, scroll down to select the auto attendant to update, and you will see new settings choices, but you will only see those which your Teams tenant admin has authorized for you: Business hours greeting, After hours greeting, Holiday greeting, To customize each greeting which you are authorized to change, choose one of the following: “Add a greeting message” and type your custom greeting in the text box. This will be read aloud by the auto attendant, or, “Play an audio file” and upload an audio file in MP3, WAV, or WMA with size less than 5MB. This file will be played by the auto attendant. For call queue greetings updates, scroll down to select the call queue to update and you will see new settings choices, but only those which your Teams tenant admin has authorized for you. You can customize the following, but you will only see those which your Teams tenant admin has authorized for you: Greeting to play when a customer call comes in, Voicemail greeting when the maximum number of calls is reached, Voicemail greeting when the maximum wait time is reached. To customize each greeting which you are authorized to change, choose one of the following: “Add a greeting message” and type your custom greeting in the text box. This will be read aloud by the auto attendant, or, “Play an audio file” and upload an audio file in MP3, WAV, or WMA with size less than 5MB. This file will be played by the auto attendant. Note: A user can be authorized to customize greetings for a call queue, but that user does not have to be part of the answering rules for that call queue. If a user is not part of a call queue’s answering rules, then when authorized, that user will not see the 'Call receiving' toggle in the above screenshot. Microsoft Teams Public Preview and Microsoft 365 Targeted Release users with a Teams Premium license can now use live translated transcript in Teams meetings. As a Teams Premium user, you now have the option to translate the meeting transcript into another language than what was originally spoken in the meeting. You can select from more than 30 languages currently supported. The transcript is displayed on the side panel of the meeting, which can help make your meeting more productive and inclusive. Flighting status Available to everyone in Public Preview channel. How to enable To turn on transcription during the meeting: Go to the meeting toolbar, select More, select Record and transcribe, choose Start transcription. By default, live transcriptions are displayed in the language that’s chosen as the “spoken language“ in the transcript option. Live translated transcription allows users to see transcriptions translated into the language they’ve chosen in the option “transcript language“ that can be accessed from the Settings icon :gear: in the Transcript pane. Please make sure you have a Teams Premium license to experience the feature. In the Teams admin center, admins can turn ON or turn OFF the Transcription setting within a meeting policy located underMeetings > Meeting policies. Description Video Filters are a new feature in Microsoft Teams meetings that will allow participants to augment their video stream with visual effects, such as frames and styles. Video filters help Teams users to express their personalities in meetings, bring joy into everyone's work hours, and reduce/diffuse stress. As just one example, wrapping up a high-prio discussion, a leader might choose when to lighten the mood with a video filter. Flighting status Available to everyone in Public Preview channel. How to enable Users can browse and select video filters from the pre-join screen and in-meeting scenarios. During pre-join, users can access Video filters from the quick tray when they have the camera enabled. After joining a meeting, users will be able to apply effects from the meeting toolbar with the camera fly-out window or navigate all Video filters options on the side pane by clicking the Video effects button under the More menu. Description With Cameo in PowerPoint Live, users will be able to integrate the presenter’s Teams camera feed into PowerPoint presentation and customize how and where they want to appear on slides. Cameo supports all personalization properties like any other Office graphical object such as those offered by Pictures, Gifs and Shapes. This includes layering Cameo between content, adding motion effects such as morph, changing styles and shapes. Flighting status Available to everyone in Public Preview channel. How to enable To test the Cameo feature with Teams, you will need a presentation containing a Cameo placeholder. To prepare this PowerPoint presentation yourself, you will need the Office Insider version of PowerPoint. To present PowerPoint slides with a Cameo placeholder in Teams: Join a Teams meeting from a Teams desktop client (Windows or Mac) as a presenter. Click on Share Tray to select/load a presentation with Cameo object already inserted & personalized in the PowerPoint slide. Once Cameo is detected on a slide in PowerPoint Live, we will auto-switch to the enhanced presentation experience with Cameo. On a Cameo slide, your Teams camera feed will auto-appear fully embedded & customized within the PowerPoint Live slides. You can switch to other presenter modes or just show slides at any point from the Teams top menu items as shown below. Note: Your camera should be 'on' before auto-switching to cameo mode to work in PowerPoint Live. If the camera is turned on later while presenting the deck or auto-switching doesn't get happen, the user has the option to manually switch to Cameo from the 'layout' dropdown as shown in below image. Cameo mode selection in the dropdown will only be available if a PowerPoint Live deck being presented already has Cameo object inserted in the slide.
