I see that Teams 2.0 installation instruction are available for Windows Server 2019 - here It says to ensure thatsideloading is enabled, and that WebView2 is installed. Can you advise if these steps are only required during the preview or if this will be required for installation in general. I don'tknow if I'm to hold off, if the installation/upgrade will eventually occur without having to do this?Solved47KViews0likes2CommentsTeams Room System Autopilot deployment does not work - Error Code: 6, 0x80180014
Problem: We are attempting to deploy our Microsoft Teams Room (MTR) systems, some of which are already in use, using Windows Autopilot in self-deploying mode. Despite following the official guide, we keep encountering errors. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/rooms/autopilot-autologin Procedure: Device: Certified Intel NUC, previously in use. Installation: Windows 11 Pro installed. Autopilot Import: Device imported into Autopilot. Group Assignment: GroupTag "MTR-ConsoleName" assigned. Dynamic Group: Device appeared in the Dynamic MTR group. Assignments: Deployment Profile and ESP (Enrollment Status Page) assigned. Teams Room Update App: Deployed via Intune, assigned to the MTR group, and integrated into the ESP. LAPS: Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) is active. Teams Rooms Pro Console: Device appeared and was assigned to a resource account with a Teams Room Pro license. Error Description: After the setup process, we consistently encounter an error during device registration for mobile management: Error Code: 6, 0x80180014 Attempts to resolve the issue: Deleted the device completely from Intune and Autopilot and re-added it. Created a custom Device Restriction Policy to allow all devices in the group. Additionally, during one attempt where the error did not occur, Teams failed to set up automatically. Questions: Why does error 6, 0x80180014 occur during device registration for mobile management? Are there specific requirements or settings beyond the official guide that need to be considered? What steps can be taken to ensure that Teams sets up automatically when the registration error does not occur? Objective: We aim to ensure that the MTR systems are smoothly deployed via Autopilot in self-deploying mode and that Teams sets up automatically. I want to associate a nickname with a person in my organization, whose employee records live in Entra ID. To do this, I went into Outlook desktop (1.2024.1204.300), did a search for the person, and selected "Add to contacts". From there, I modified the newly created contact record's first name from, for example, "Margaret" to "Margaret (Peggy)". I also deleted the company and title fields that got auto-populated because I don't want to overwrite these values from whatever they might change to in the future. The only fields I should need are email address (which I expect it needs as the "key" to match my contact record to the person's underlying record in the organization) and the fields I want to overwrite, in this case first name. From here, I'd expect interactions with this user to show their updated name for me. It doesn't. Nothing works as expected. If I start a new email and type "peggy" into the "To" field, nothing comes up. If I type "margaret", she appears in the results without my name modification. Similarly, while in the Mail section of Outlook, if I do a search for "peggy", I get no results, even if I filter on People. However, in the People section of Outlook, if I do a search for "peggy", she does come up. So even within Outlook itself, there's a total disconnect between how Mail and People honor my contacts info. In Teams desktop (24295.605.3225.8804.), it's even worse, with there being no trace whatsoever of the contact's updated name. In the People section, "All contacts" shows nothing at all. I've manually clicked Mail > View > Sync in Outlook. I've tried manually closing both Outlook and Teams. I've waited 30 minutes. I've even confirmed via outlook.office.com that my contact is there and that the "new contacts" settings is on, but actually seeing the updated name when writing an email or sending a Teams chat isn't working at all. None of these time-consuming and frustrating steps should be necessary to begin with, but even then, it's all broken. Is this not a supported feature in M365?34Views0likes0CommentsCo-organizer cannot unmute or share
For a recurring Teams meeting in which I am the organizer, one of my co-organizers was not permitted to to unmute or share during a call where I was not present. We tested the meeting later, together, and even after I joined, the co-organizer's camera, mic and share buttons remained grayed-out, and this co-organizer was listed in my People pane as an Attendee. Here are the Meeting Option settings I have: This person is included in the 'Choose co-organizers' list 'Who can present' is set to 'Only organizers and co-organizers'. 'Who can bypass the lobby' is set to 'People in my org, trusted orgs, and guests'. This person is in my organization (same company). This person joined from their Outlook calendar. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix so that my co-organizers can conduct a meeting that I (as the organizer) cannot join? The expectation is that the link should work seamlessly for both internal and external participants without the need to send a second link.Solved51Views0likes1CommentMS Teams Select Background outside of conference call
Is there a way in MS Teams to change or 'try on' different backgrounds before or without starting a new meeting? As you know you can send short video clips in Teams chats for a little while now. We wonder where those clips (and also the short voice messages that can be send via Teams Mobile App) are actually stored. It obviously is not OneDrive as we haven't found it there. Maybe it is just completely hidden for end users (and admins)? Maybe it sits somewhere in the (shadow) mailbox? Haven't found this information in any public documentation of this feature. Any advise is highly appreciated.Solved4.4KViews0likes6CommentsTeams User names are not displayed with desktop app teams and shown as Unknown user
