Data validation

I have set some data validation rules in an excel sheet to allow only numbers to be entered in certain cells. As they read across a number of formulas it is important that these are adhered to.

As the file is used by numerous people, the sheet is locked and password protected to prevent any form of incorrect entry in any locked cells,

I have however found, much to my surprise, that the validation rules in the open cells have very easily been circumvented by a user who simply copied & pasted an incorrect form of information from their own blank sheet into the validated cells.

Has anyone come across this before and maybe found a way to prevent this from happening.

An simple example sheet is attached, locked with no password.
