we would like to get your opinion on the following situation.
- In Term Studio (our internal Terminology database), "remediation" is defined as "The act of bringing a system or piece of software into compliance with a policy or configuration intent." and currently translated as "Wartung".
- The corresponding verb "remediate" is defined as "To bring a system or piece of software into compliance with a policy or configuration intent. "and the suggested translation is "korrigieren".
- In the German SW, we currently have a mixture of "Gegenmaßnahme(n)", "Abhilfe", "beheben" etc. and we need to bring more consistency into it.
- The localisation team and I (the Language Moderator) think that the term "Wartung" is at best outdated and at worst misleading. The definition in Term Studio is rather general. After I've had a detailed look at the occurrences of "remediation" and "remediate" in the SW, my suggestion would be to globally use "Korrektur" and "korrigieren". It's a clear and comprehensive term and fits in all contexts.
-I've attached a short Excel file with affected strings from the SW. If you check colums Source, Translation (old), Translation (new), you can get a better impression of the suggested change.
