Microsoft Tech Community: Code of Conduct
Notice:This code of conduct applies only to the Microsoft Tech Community. Our community is a diverse community of people from many backgrounds, industries, countries, and cultures who choose to spend their time sharing their experiences with using Microsoft's Products and services. It is a central destination for education and thought leadership on best practices, product news, live events, and roadmap. Thanks for joining the Microsoft Tech Community. Learn more about how to Get Started. We aim to make the Microsoft Tech community a safe and welcoming environment for everyone to join and engage in. To help us achieve this aim we need to ask you not to post links to content not owned or controlled by Microsoft, its suppliers, or vendors. While we enable people to post attachments, scripts, and code as they can be helpful to solve problems in the community, users must take responsibility for running any code submitted to the site outside of official Microsoft channels. Users must also properly check all attachments for any personal information to be removed before attaching and, per the terms of use, confirm that any information you do post in the community you have permission and the legal rights to do so. Where data that is personal identifiable information (PII) or looks like PII data we reserve the right to remove it from our community to help protect you and the subjects of the data. If your data is included in any attachments here on the Microsoft Tech Community, you can either contact us to have it removed or use the 'report' option in the cog on the message containing the information. We will then review and make a decision on removing the content within ten working days. Where any aspect of this Code of Conduct conflicts with the Microsoft Terms of Use, the Microsoft Terms of Use will take precedence. This is a community for everyone! So if you have feedback or ideas, please submit your Idea to our Community Ideas board. This community is a big place and moderators cannot see everything. If you see any violation of these guidelines, please notify us within the community by choosing "Report Inappropriate Content" from the message Options menu and let us know why you feel the content is inappropriate. When data is collected, we want to make sure it’s the right choice for you. To help you as an end user and a participant of this community to exercise your Data Subject Request (DSRs) rights under General Data Protection Regulations we provide the following functionalities. The below sections explain step by step process on how you can view, edit and delete your personal information (customer data). To learn more about the data collected by Microsoft and it’s use please view the Microsoft Privacy Statement. View and Export personal data To view all your data collected by Microsoft Tech Community: Navigate to Microsoft Tech Community Sign in by clicking “Sign In” link at the top right. Once logged in, click on your profile avatar and select “My Profile” link. You can view all information related to your activity with the Microsoft Tech Community. You can update your profile, view things you have liked recently, your uploaded photos and using the filter in the My Activity tab to view: Conversations you have started Conversations you have replied to Any replies that have been marked as “Best Response” All Conversations you have interacted with. You may also export their personal data in json format using below steps: Navigate to "My Settings". Select “Personal information” from the second level menu. Scroll to bottom of the page and click on the links under Download links: In addition to personal data provided here, we also capture user’s interaction with the service, which includes the following: Visits Visits per Geo Registration Date Most recent sign in Total sign ins Total minutes online Last visit IP address Last logged in IP address Roles Search Terms Device Type OS/Browser config data Page views Bulk Data Location Rank Badges earned Tech Community Account Closure We have recently changed how you close your Microsoft Tech Community Account. You may now close your account directly from your user settings page when you are signed in. This will delete your profile and anonymize your posts. In accordance with our Terms of Use, we will not delete your posts entirely. Exceptionally, you can also request your account closed by emailing our team. We will only close accounts via this method once we have confirmed your identity and that you are the account owner. Note: Once an account deletion request has been completed, either by yourself or our team, it takes 72 hours before the same credentials can be used to login again and deleted accounts can not be recovered.10likes0Comments
