File Explorer is slow when traversing files synced with OneDrive
Hello team, I have this customer who have this AVD deployment in production, they are managing with Nerdio and they recently move their storages to Azure NetApp. Event with this very optimized environment they are facing one specific issue with the OneDrive synced folders. They created this video that explains the issue in details. They also opened a support ticket, but they didn't help with this issue. They are facing that for a while and they are asking for more assistance. If anyone could have any clue would be great! A video demonstrating the issue can be found here: https://rivier.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=203b5b74-07d9-4ec1-8da0-b02a015a0e18 (the demonstration starts at the 2m10s mark). Thank you!sandrocpereiraJan 27, 2025Microsoft8.6KViews2likes78CommentsAzure Virtual Desktop GEO geofencing location
We are deploying Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and using Paycom with geofencing enabled. Since AVD is hosted by Microsoft, multiple public IPs are being used, which is causing an issue. Does anyone have a solution for this particular problem? Here are the steps users are following: Log in using a Dell Wyse ThinClient. Connect to a session host on AVD. Log in with their Active Directory (AD) credentials.Marcos1987Jan 27, 2025Copper Contributor13Views0likes1CommentNeed Ability to Force Native Resolution on Remote Desktop HTML5 Web Client
Hello, Not sure if this forum is also for the HTML 5 RD web client but if so, I'd like to request a feature or ask if there's a way to force the clients to use native resolution. We can force it to use web (vs .RDP) and suppress telemetry but not the native resolution slider. I tried a few DWORDS in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\RemoteDesktopWeb but no luck. When we roll this out to hundreds of users, they'll all have to check that box. Would be nice if we could force it on the admin side with a reg key or the Set-RDWebClientDeploymentSetting cmdlet. thanks, DanDanWheelerJan 27, 2025Brass Contributor231Views0likes1CommentArmy Azure VD
Hi, I've downloaded the WindowsRemote Desktop client for Windows multiple times and I keep having the same issue. It'll download, but when I try to open it, it won't. I've tried opening it from the downloads on Chrome and the downloads from the file. I end up having to turn my laptop off completely to get my laptop to start working normally again. Any assistance would be great, HaleyHaleySerattJan 26, 2025Copper Contributor296Views0likes1CommentWindows 11 Multi session search index fslogix
Hi we have been trying to get windows 11 multi session search index working for a few weeks now without success. We are using the latest gallery image and configuring fslogix profile and office containers (not enabling search roaming) at logon a user session shows that search index is not running. The search service itself is running in services. Attempting to view search index status as a user just shows the search index dialogue box with a message saying trying to connect or trying to get status or something along those lines. If we then restart the search index service as an admin while the user is logged on the search then starts working for them but only for that session duration, once they logout and log back on again th e search index again says it’s turned off and has a hyperlink to turn it back on which again just shows a status of connecting but no actual search info. It’s like the service is running on the system but the user search index is failing for individual users. this is only an issue with the enterprise windows 11 multi session, we have no issues with windows 10 multi session and the fslogix config is exactly the same. has anyone had this same issue and is there something special that needs to be configured for windows 11? We are also using the latest fslogix from January. Thankssteveturnbull1975Jan 24, 2025Brass Contributor9KViews1like25CommentsFslogix - delete profile -> Intune settings not applied
Hi, Have got everything working fine with AVD (W11 multi session) and an FSlogix Profiles on an Azure File share. Settings are being applied with MS Intune. The only issue is, when we delete a profile of a user (VHDX) and the user logs on to AVD, the Intune Configuration settings are not being applied anymore. Resulting in not all settings are correct (for example C drive should be hidden, Edge Home page not set, and so on....) I cannot put a finger on where this issue is coming from and how to resolve it.... Hope someone can assist ?ML-nlJan 23, 2025Copper Contributor466Views0likes5CommentsAdd or Update Session Host failed
Hi, We have a Host Pool with 3 session hosts. We are using the "Session Host Configuration" feature (in preview). So far, we were able to update the Host Pool with a new image template or add a new session host to the pool without any errors; everything was working as expected. However, for the past few days, whenever we try to update or add a session host to the Host Pool, the session host fails to join the Active Directory. We encounter the errors "DomainJoinedCheck" and "DomainTrustCheck" failed. When I check the NetSetup log in C:\Windows\debug, it shows that the virtual desktop (VD) didn't attempt to reach the domain and remains in a workgroup state. The RD Agent is functioning as expected, and all related services are up and running. If I manually join the session host to the domain, it works, and the session host remains available. Do you have any ideas on what might be causing this issue?AxelGleizes31Jan 22, 2025Copper Contributor110Views1like7CommentsCan't add a custom Background in a Teams call in AVD
Hi, When we use Teams directly on our laptops, we get the option under Video Effects and Settings, 'add new', but in AVD, the option is not there on any call. We want to put our company logo behind meetings. We use the latest Slimcore teams version and Windows App. Any advice on why it doesn't work, or a work around? Hi There Hope you are doing great! I am new to Azure and Virtual Desktop and require some help to set it up correctly. I have created and setup the Virtual Desktop but looking for an option to automatically shut it down and deallocate, there is only 1 machine running and usually 1 user connects to it. if that user is not accessing the machine it needs to be deallocated after 30 or 15 min. Is it something anyone can help? Many Thanksabhi4vcJan 21, 2025Copper Contributor165Views0likes8CommentsApp Attach only working if the App is Installed Locally First
I am trying to use App Attach to provide an application to my virtual desktop environment. The environment is currently 100% Entra ID, no DS if possible. RemoteApp host pool with Standard_D4as_v6 VMs running Windows 11 24H2 multi-session (no office 365 apps). I am having troubles getting App Attach working as I understand it should. I packaged my app into MSIX on one of the session hosts via admin account. My app is self-signed with .PFX, each session host has the corresponding .CER file in Trusted People AND Trusted Root Certification Authorities (conflicting advice online led me to just do both). I converted .MSIX to .CIM disk via MSIXMGR on the same session host. msixmgr.exe -Unpack -packagePath "path\file.msix" -destination "path\file.cim" -applyACLs -create -fileType cim -rootDirectory apps I uploaded the .CIM file and the 6 supporting files to Azure Files Storage Account. All hosts have access to the azure storage account via access key, which I know is working because I’m using a different File Share in the same Storage Account to run FSLogix which has been working great. I haven't made any NTFS changes in my environment so far. On the storage account: Reader and Data Access is granted to Windows Virtual Desktop and Windows Virtual Desktop ARM Provider. Storage File Data SMB Share Reader is granted to each VM. Create App Attach resource, assigned it to the associated app group/workspace/host pool. I can see my app under the Apps tab in the Windows App/Remote Desktop app. Now into the Windows App: when I click my app, it will load forever on “Securing Remote Session…” and if I click “Show Details” to see the Windows login screen, it is always frozen on “Preparing Windows”. I’ve switched the host pool to “Desktop” mode and my user can log in to the full desktop with no issues, it is just the remote app that gets hung up. BUT if I log into the VM with my admin account, I launch my MSIX package, and approve the installation of my app, that makes it all work. Now I can go back to the Windows App and launch my remote app as a regular user, and it works perfectly. (Assuming I make the host pool assign the user to the session host where I manually installed the app) As far as I understand, this shouldn’t be a requirement to get App Attach working, so I’m looking for advice or information as to why manually installing the app would fix my problem. I am suspicious of the self-signed certificate; I’d rather not buy one but let me know if that’s what I’m stuck doing. I’m also curious if the “App-Attached” version of my app is running, or if its just targeting the locally installed version behind the scenes on me… I am going to do more testing and see if I can prove that. Thanks for the help!JonahBaderJan 20, 2025Copper Contributor91Views0likes8Comments
