Add or Update Session Host failed
Hi, We have a Host Pool with 3 session hosts. We are using the "Session Host Configuration" feature (in preview). So far, we were able to update the Host Pool with a new image template or add a new session host to the pool without any errors; everything was working as expected. However, for the past few days, whenever we try to update or add a session host to the Host Pool, the session host fails to join the Active Directory. We encounter the errors "DomainJoinedCheck" and "DomainTrustCheck" failed. When I check the NetSetup log in C:\Windows\debug, it shows that the virtual desktop (VD) didn't attempt to reach the domain and remains in a workgroup state. The RD Agent is functioning as expected, and all related services are up and running. If I manually join the session host to the domain, it works, and the session host remains available. Do you have any ideas on what might be causing this issue?AxelGleizes31Jan 15, 2025Occasional Reader27Views0likes2CommentsApp Attach only working if the App is Installed Locally First
I am trying to use App Attach to provide an application to my virtual desktop environment. The environment is currently 100% Entra ID, no DS if possible. RemoteApp host pool with Standard_D4as_v6 VMs running Windows 11 24H2 multi-session (no office 365 apps). I am having troubles getting App Attach working as I understand it should. I packaged my app into MSIX on one of the session hosts via admin account. My app is self-signed with .PFX, each session host has the corresponding .CER file in Trusted People AND Trusted Root Certification Authorities (conflicting advice online led me to just do both). I converted .MSIX to .CIM disk via MSIXMGR on the same session host. msixmgr.exe -Unpack -packagePath "path\file.msix" -destination "path\file.cim" -applyACLs -create -fileType cim -rootDirectory apps I uploaded the .CIM file and the 6 supporting files to Azure Files Storage Account. All hosts have access to the azure storage account via access key, which I know is working because I’m using a different File Share in the same Storage Account to run FSLogix which has been working great. I haven't made any NTFS changes in my environment so far. On the storage account: Reader and Data Access is granted to Windows Virtual Desktop and Windows Virtual Desktop ARM Provider. Storage File Data SMB Share Reader is granted to each VM. Create App Attach resource, assigned it to the associated app group/workspace/host pool. I can see my app under the Apps tab in the Windows App/Remote Desktop app. Now into the Windows App: when I click my app, it will load forever on “Securing Remote Session…” and if I click “Show Details” to see the Windows login screen, it is always frozen on “Preparing Windows”. I’ve switched the host pool to “Desktop” mode and my user can log in to the full desktop with no issues, it is just the remote app that gets hung up. BUT if I log into the VM with my admin account, I launch my MSIX package, and approve the installation of my app, that makes it all work. Now I can go back to the Windows App and launch my remote app as a regular user, and it works perfectly. (Assuming I make the host pool assign the user to the session host where I manually installed the app) As far as I understand, this shouldn’t be a requirement to get App Attach working, so I’m looking for advice or information as to why manually installing the app would fix my problem. I am suspicious of the self-signed certificate; I’d rather not buy one but let me know if that’s what I’m stuck doing. I’m also curious if the “App-Attached” version of my app is running, or if its just targeting the locally installed version behind the scenes on me… I am going to do more testing and see if I can prove that. Thanks for the help!11Views0likes1CommentFile Explorer is slow when traversing files synced with OneDrive
Hello team, I have this customer who have this AVD deployment in production, they are managing with Nerdio and they recently move their storages to Azure NetApp. Event with this very optimized environment they are facing one specific issue with the OneDrive synced folders. They created this video that explains the issue in details. They also opened a support ticket, but they didn't help with this issue. They are facing that for a while and they are asking for more assistance. If anyone could have any clue would be great! A video demonstrating the issue can be found here: https://rivier.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=203b5b74-07d9-4ec1-8da0-b02a015a0e18(the demonstration starts at the 2m10s mark). Using "newer" versions of the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client (client versions newer than 1.2.29) the msrdc.exe app crashed upon starting the connection to the resource. Version 1.2.29XXX connects just fine but anything newer and it starts having issues. I have only seen this on what seems to be random machines across several different clients/tenants/hostpools making it especially tough to narrow down what the underlying issue is. The subscribe process authenticates successfully and shows the resources in the feed properly but upon launching the Remote Desktop connection the msrdc.exe crashes right away. The only commonality is that i see this event id on all the machines (both win10 and win11 workstations): Faulting application name: msrdc.exe, version: 1.2.4159.0, time stamp: 0x645938cf Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 10.0.22621.1485, time stamp: 0xb7f0154a Exception code: 0xc0000409 Fault offset: 0x00000000000a3346 Faulting process id: 0x0x3554 Faulting application start time: 0x0x1D9844F7F5FB6DF Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Remote Desktop\msrdc.exe Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll Report Id: 3dd4c0a1-bc99-4a24-a859-b7a5cda39e3b Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID:pbear25Jan 08, 2025Copper Contributor15KViews0likes6CommentsWindows App for Mac feedback link broken

H, we are building an AVD environment (not for the first time) and sporadically VM's will show Health state in Host pool as unavailable, iv you click on the effected VM it will say DomainTruestCheck failed however if you log on the VM (via RDP as MTSC wont connect to it when in this state) and run domain join checks they all come back as no issue. If you shut the vm down to deallocated and turn on sometimes the same VM will come back as green available but then if you restart it, it will come back as unavailable for domain checks. We have built 4 different host pools using the store win11 multi session 23h2 some using "create Session Host Configuration" enabled (Preview) some disabled as the norm, they all do the same, we have tried removing from CA policies and sanity check on domain controller its the credentials work however if we look in sign in checks on Entra it says its failing Windows Sign in incorrect credentials, but the same credentials are being used to sign into azure sign into the VM sign into Domain controller and it never fails to log in at that point, also if the credentials were wrong surely it would fail health check every time not some of the time. Anyone any ideas, logged with Microsoft but they are on holiday for Christmas periodStevenRDec 31, 2024Brass Contributor112Views0likes3CommentsError: AADSTS54005: OAuth2 Authorization code was already redeemed
Hello, I tested Azure Virtual Desktop Quickstart, all days long. Hi There Hope you are doing great! I am new to Azure and Virtual Desktop and require some help to set it up correctly. I have created and setup the Virtual Desktop but looking for an option to automatically shut it down and deallocate, there is only 1 machine running and usually 1 user connects to it. if that user is not accessing the machine it needs to be deallocated after 30 or 15 min. Is it something anyone can help? Many Thanksabhi4vcDec 29, 2024Copper Contributor101Views0likes4CommentsAndroid RD Client Mouse Middle Click Problems
I can use the RD Client application on my Android tablet. I can connect without any problems. I can also use it with a mouse and keyboard that I connect to my tablet via Bluetooth without any problems, but while all the buttons on the mouse work, only the middle button click works like the left mouse button instead of performing itsownfunction.mmerchinDec 25, 2024Copper Contributor159Views0likes1Comment
