App Insight's Webtests are a simple way to ensure that the endpoints your business relies on are still active & available. A common problem customers run into is that their endpoint is behind a firewall or inaccessible from the public internet which the App Insights testing service relies on.
Previously you had some basic guidance from the troubleshooting section of our documentation but we just released dedicated private testing documentation to add additional context, solutions, & be easily accessible to the user.
At a high level you have 2 options:
- Allow access to your private endpoints from our ping testing service by picking from a variety of options like Service Tags, an Azure Application Gateway, or IP Whitelisting.
- Write custom tests using our Track Availability SDK().
