Experiencing Latency and Data Loss issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types - 05/27 - Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal as of 05/27, 21:22 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 05/27, 12:16 UTC and that during the 8 hours 53 minutes that it took to resolve the issue some customers using Application Inisghts resources in East US region might have experienced intermittent Data Latency, Data Gaps and incorrect Alert Activation.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to issue in our storage backend service.

We continue to investigate issues within Application Insights. Root cause is not fully understood at this time. Some customers using Application Insights resources in East US region may experience intermittent Data Latency, Data Gaps and incorrect Alert Activation. We are working to establish the start time for the issue, initial findings indicate that the problem began at 5/27 ~12:16 UTC. We currently have no estimate for resolution.
