We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 09/27, 22:33 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 09/27 ~18:00 UTC and that during 3 hours 30 min that it took to resolve the issue customers in South Central US experienced failure notifications when retrieving Application insights logs.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to  changes in network configuration for one of the dependent services.

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We continue to investigate issues within Application Insights. Root cause is not fully understood at this time. Some customers in South Central US continue to experience data gaps. We are working to establish the start time for the issue, initial findings indicate that the problem began at 09/27 ~18:00 UTC. We currently have no estimate for resolution.
