Word Version 1.0.1 (16.0.11718.20002) One Drive Version: 5.32.1 Phone: Google Pixel2 XL It doesn't matter if I edit the document on my phone, tablet, or PC, Word, on my phone, does not ask if I want to pick up where I left off. This is very annoying. I'm getting tired of searching for my spot. I have great connectivity. My PC and tablets see each other's last position. They often see the last position from my phone. It's the apps on my phone that doesn't see the last position, not even if the last use was on the phone. I even wiped my phone and reinstalled the apps. It's still broke. Look, developers, you know I use Word for Android nearly every day. This feature is a "must work" item. What can I do to help? Is there a diagnostic I can perform? Thank you George DriverSolved2.6KViews0likes12CommentsPlease Stop asking to save a duplicate file somewhere else before editing/annotating Word files
Stop asking to save a duplicate file somewhere else before editing a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file. this gets really annoying when it happens for Word and PDF files when you want to annotate it. either remove this requirement or add an option in the settings to disable this. this isn't an expected behavior. on Desktop/Mac when you want to edit a Word file, you're not required nor asked to save your file somewhere else, make a duplicate of it, before doing editing and annotating. it makes it hard to maintain a tidy file manager, also creates unneeded files as we have to make duplicate content all the time. another experience my father had, I installed this app on his phone, and he thought this app can only open Office (Word, PowerPoint, PDF etc.), not edit them, simply because of this constant duplicate creation requirement. This is a huge issue that needs to get fixed. we need to be able to edit the same file and save our changes to the same file. if needed, convert the file from read-only to editable mode automatically, without asking the user to do this manually, and never the need for creating duplicate content on phone.2.6KViews0likes0CommentsWord for Android Stopped Keeping Track of Where I Left Off.
Word version 16.0.11530.20000 One Drive version 5.29.1 If I use Word on my phone, Google Pixel2 XL, then reopen it later, it doesn't ask if I want to pick up where I left off. If I use word on my PC, Word on my phone won't know/remember where I left off. This is an annoying issue. Is this an issue with an app or not? Any suggestions on how I can fix this?1.6KViews0likes4CommentsWelcome to Word Android beta program!

Joined this new community, let's see how this goes. As you can see, I cannot directly save opened documents. I only can only save a copy, but of what use is that, when i cannot save it directly. Directly saving is utmost important for me, because i open files in my favourite cloud service, and by directly saving the file gets automatically updated by my favourite cloud services. And of what use is it, to have documents just on tablet and not on pc? So this is a frequent use case and yes, i want to use my favourite cloud service. At the moment i use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobisystems.office&hl=de but wtf, how can a third party app do this better than microsoft itself? wtf. Please fix that problem, it's crucial as many people don't just work with tablet, but also crossplattform with pc on their documents.1.5KViews0likes3CommentsKeyTips now available in Office for Mac
