it's important for security and privacy reasons, when the built in VPN connection in Windows 11 suddenly disconnects and its connection drops, we should receive a notification and be warned. right now, nothing happens and VPN silently disconnects without warning user. There is no notification from Windows when our built-in VPN connection (inside Windows) suddenly disconnects or VPN connections drops. it poses security risk as well as discomfort and other problems. there is a reason when user uses VPN connection, to stay protected, secure etc. so when VPN connection suddenly drops or disconnects for any reason, user must be notified. When I put my PC to sleep, VPN connection is disconnected and when I wake it up, it stays disconnected. Windows should automatically reconnect it. this is a security issue and important concern, I don't want non-VPN (direct) connections. VPN auto dial is missing/removed. look at the screenshots attached to the feedback. Windows 10 insider fast ring build 19033.1 the only way I could find a sign of autodial was when my VPN failed to connect, so i randomly clicked on "diagnostics" as seen in the picture, and there i found autodial, which was disabled and there is no way to enable it! When connected directly to Internet in general (WIFI in my case), Task Manager shows each program's network usage in the network column, but after connecting to a VPN (PPTP/L2TP/SSTP), Task Manager shows 0% on all programs network usage, the only process that shows network usage is "System". so all of the computer network usage are gathered into one process. please change this behavior because it's not useful and very counterproductive. please Upvote this feedback:https://aka.ms/AA6pl4v3.1KViews0likes0CommentsMicrosoft - Please Stop Removing/Adding Windows Insider Features based on the User's IP Address
Microsoft - Please Stop Removing/Adding Windows Insider Features based on the User's IP Address Location (NOT related to the slow feature rollout) I've been a helpful Windows Insider member since 2015 but recently it's been very annoying to be an Insider. It's been happening since the beginning of Windows 10 Insider 20H1 builds, Here's what happens: When I'm connected to the Internet with my ISP IP Address, I have access to the new features introduced in the latest Windows insider for example the old Cortana is gone and replaced by the New Cortana 2 beta. another example is that in the Calculator app, there is a new small button added called "Keep on top", last example, at the bottom right corner of the Windows (taskbar), when I click on the time and clock, it brings up the Calendar and time and at the bottom of that small window i can add an event or reminder without opening the Calendar app. so these are All new features. Now, If I use a VPN (for whatever personal reason that millions of people use VPNs) - (VPNs like Windscribe, Thunnelbear, or any custom OpenVPN) to connect to other countries like EU east and west, Asia, Middle East etc, those new Windows insider features that I explained above go away, they literally disappear. in the Cortana example, the old Cortana comes back again and the New Cortana 2 beta disappears. in the Calculator example, that little "keep on top" button disappears from the Calculator app. in the Calendar example, that area where user can add reminder or event without opening the Calendar app goes missing and disappears so If i click on the "add reminder or event", it brings up the Calendar app instead. It's super annoying. Please stop doing it. once a user is eligible to receive those new features as part of the slow rollout then let them Have and Keep those new features. Don't remove them when the user connects to a VPN and gets another IP address from another country. It doesn't change Anything. it's STILL THE SAME user, the SAME computer, the SAME PC. there is absolutely NO point in giving those features to the user, then remove them whenever you want, and then give those features back Again when VPN goes off or switches to a certain country. Half of these changes and feature removals/disappearances happen without a computer restart. as if all of these Windows components are fluid and actively controlled by someone else. the Other half of the features such as the Cortana removal do need a system restart. it's really messy.. There is obviously a country restriction here and a blacklist exists on the Microsoft servers, just not sure how big it is. I really need some official answer on this problem. Thank you!
