I need to speak to a person at Microsoft
Firstly, I don't know if this is the correct place to ask, if not, I apologise, and would be greratful if I could be directed to the correct medium. So..... *** I am writing this on behalf of someone else *** His account has been locked after he had been hacked and infected with a virus, and Microsoft will not unlock it. However, they have decided (today) to take his money for his 365 subscription, that he can't use, and doesn't want. When looking for a way to cancel it, the answer is log-in to his account and cancel it himself. BUT, he can't log in because the account is locked. He has tried looking for a phone number to speak to someone, but cannot find any. He has tried looking for a Live Chat, but, (if it exists) it is only available after he logs in. He just wants to cancel the subscription, and get a refund. Can someone please give me a contact number - preferably in the UK, but any English speaking representitive, in any countrty will do. Thanks,
M365 Admin Center Global Administrator Lockout
Hello Microsoft Community, I am seeking urgent assistance and guidance regarding a critical Microsoft 365 tenant lockout that has been ongoing for several days without a resolution or proper communication from the support team. Our organization manages Microsoft 365 services for a business with more than 200 active users who depend on Microsoft 365 for their daily operations. Issue Description We have been locked out of our Microsoft 365 tenant's administrator account. This prevents us from properly managing our Microsoft 365 environment and restoring normal access to essential business services. Our business-critical data, including important documents and operational information, is stored in SharePoint. The inability to access and manage these services has significantly disrupted our business operations. Microsoft Support Ticket References We have raised multiple support tickets and followed up repeatedly, but the issue remains unresolved. Tracking ID: 2610050040001149 Tracking ID: 2610090010001066 Tracking ID: 2610050040001222 Despite these support cases and repeated follow-ups, we have not received a satisfactory resolution or a clear recovery timeline. Support Experience So Far Following a discussion with the support team, we were expecting a call to assist with unlocking the administrator account and providing a temporary password through the appropriate recovery process. However, we have not received the expected call or a meaningful update. Our main concerns are: Complete loss of access to the Microsoft 365 tenant administrator account. More than 200 users affected by the ongoing incident. Critical business data and documents stored in SharePoint. Multiple support tickets without a concrete resolution. Lack of clear communication regarding the root cause and recovery timeline. No clear escalation path or confirmation of the next recovery steps. Our Concerns We understand that technical issues can occur, but leaving a business-critical environment inaccessible for an extended period without meaningful updates is extremely concerning. We purchase Microsoft 365 licenses through a partner and expect appropriate technical support and escalation assistance when critical incidents occur. Our organization previously used Google Workspace and recommended migrating to Microsoft 365 because of its enterprise capabilities. This incident has seriously affected user confidence and business continuity. If access cannot be restored promptly, we may have to consider alternative email hosting arrangements to minimize further disruption. Request for Assistance I would appreciate guidance from Microsoft engineers, Microsoft 365 administrators, and community members who have experienced similar situations. What is the appropriate escalation process when all available tenant administrator accounts are inaccessible? How can we expedite tenant ownership verification and administrator account recovery? Is there a dedicated Microsoft team that handles critical tenant lockout incidents affecting business operations? What is the recommended recovery process when the administrator cannot access the Microsoft 365 Admin Center? How can we obtain urgent assistance when multiple support tickets and repeated follow-ups have not resulted in a clear resolution? Can the three referenced support tickets be escalated for urgent review by the appropriate Microsoft support team? We are not looking for workarounds that compromise tenant security. We need Microsoft's official recovery process to restore authorized administrative access safely. Microsoft Support Team: If any Microsoft support representatives are monitoring this community, we would appreciate your guidance on the appropriate escalation channel for this incident. We can provide additional information privately through the appropriate official channels. Thank you for your time and assistance. Any guidance that helps us restore our services and protect business continuity would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, Microsoft 365 Tenant Administrator
WHY is microsoft support so useless???
I give up at this point. How is it possible for one of the biggest companies in the world to have the worst and most useless support system ever. I'm just trying to get my account back after it got hacked so I can play minecraft. So how is in after sending a paragraph of information about the account and screenshots of receipts and email I received of someone changes the email of the account, it's still not enough information??? The selfhelp system is somehow the worst one I've ever seen and the AI chatbot doesn't even work.
Hacked Microsoft Account Recovery with Semi Access
I'm at a complete loss and it is infuriatingly ridiculous. I am entirely unable to get a hold of a human being at Microsoft and am being turned down by automated responses nonstop. So here's what's happening: My Microsoft account has been hijacked (obviously not this one) for its valuable Minecraft account and has now been sold. I am logged into my account via my PC, have full access of the main email address, but I have been locked out of my account using the alias email. Whenever I want to log in to my account, it wants to instead send a code to an email address I do not own and can't access. I have tried the Sign-In Helper, the Recovery Form, the hotline, the support email without any result, let alone a non-automated response. I sadly don't have the Recovery Code of my 15 year old-ish account. Since I still have full access of my email address I get updates of security info being changed and what not. Last month a stranger sent me screenshots of someone trying to sell my Minecraft account, for which I myself have received multiple buying offers, and voila yesterday I received notification of my alias mail address changing followed by Minecraft server apps being added to my Microsoft account. While I had already given up retrieving my account, whenever I get notifications my heart sinks a new while some hope sparks up again. Do you people have any idea of what I could do? I don't even rule out legal actions at this point. While I do of course have the email address of the hijacker and the buyer, I fear that contacting them results in me being locked out permanently. I'm just begging to catch the attention of anyone involved with Microsoft. This being walled out with automated responses is killing me.
Microsoft Account Login
HI All I recently reinstall windows on the same PC where I had my Microsoft account as a default. During the set-up process I wasn't able to create Hello Pin so I used another Hotmail account and also choosing to go offline option having tried several times with the Microsoft account which I have set-up as a profile but cannot login using my Microsoft account as nothing happens when I click on sign in with no option prompt to sign in. I have checked my Microsoft, but no issues found through troubleshooter as I'm logged into the account submitting this support discussion not via windows profile account. I can't work out why I'm no longer able to login using my Microsoft account. Help on this would be appreciated. Regards, SergioMy hotmail account got hijacked.
My old hotmail account got hijacked - I tried to log this weekend and got the message that "We couldn't find an account with that username". I understand that the hacker did an alias change. I ultimately was able to get a support chat, and the agent had me fill out a recover your account form, which I did, and gave them an alternative email address. After that, I got an email from Microsoft to the alternative email with a longer list of items to verify, which I filled out and submitted. I waited a few days with no response, so I replied to that Microsoft email asking for a status update, and got an automated response: "This case was previously closed as it was either resolved or closed due to non-response after multiple contact attempts. In both situations, a closure email explaining the reason would have been sent to you." But no contact attempt was made, nor a closure email sent to me. I got back on the support chat, and explained the situation and the agent said to reply to that Microsoft email asking for an update. I told him that I did so, but would do it again if it helped. After sending it again, I received the same automated message that the case was closed. The agent suggested that I go through the process again, which I have done. As I'm not expecting great results, I'm here to ask if I'm doing anything wrong, or if I can go through a different channel?I built a free, open-source M365 security assessment tool - looking for feedback
I work as an IT consultant, and a good chunk of my time is spent assessing Microsoft 365 environments for small and mid-sized businesses. Every engagement started the same way: connect to five different PowerShell modules, run dozens of commands across Entra ID, Exchange Online, Defender, SharePoint, and Teams, manually compare each setting against CIS benchmarks, then spend hours assembling everything into a report the client could actually read. The tools that automate this either cost thousands per year, require standing up Azure infrastructure just to run, or only cover one service area. I wanted something simpler: one command that connects, assesses, and produces a client-ready deliverable. So I built it. What M365 Assess does https://github.com/Daren9m/M365-Assess is a PowerShell-based security assessment tool that runs against a Microsoft 365 tenant and produces a comprehensive set of reports. Here is what you get from a single run: 57 automated security checks aligned to the CIS Microsoft 365 Foundations Benchmark v6.0.1, covering Entra ID, Exchange Online, Defender for Office 365, SharePoint Online, and Teams 12 compliance frameworks mapped simultaneously -- every finding is cross-referenced against NIST 800-53, NIST CSF 2.0, ISO 27001:2022, SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS v4.0.1, CMMC 2.0, CISA SCuBA, and DISA STIG (plus CIS profiles for E3 L1/L2 and E5 L1/L2) 20+ CSV exports covering users, mailboxes, MFA status, admin roles, conditional access policies, mail flow rules, device compliance, and more A self-contained HTML report with an executive summary, severity badges, sortable tables, and a compliance overview dashboard -- no external dependencies, fully base64-encoded, just open it in any browser or email it directly The entire assessment is read-only. It never modifies tenant settings. Only Get-* cmdlets are used. A few things I'm proud of Real-time progress in the console. As the assessment runs, you see each check complete with live status indicators and timing. No staring at a blank terminal wondering if it hung. The HTML report is a single file. Logos, backgrounds, fonts -- everything is embedded. You can email the report as an attachment and it renders perfectly. It supports dark mode (auto-detects system preference), and all tables are sortable by clicking column headers. Compliance framework mapping. This was the feature that took the most work. The compliance overview shows coverage percentages across all 12 frameworks, with drill-down to individual controls. Each finding links back to its CIS control ID and maps to every applicable framework control. Pass/Fail detail tables. Each security check shows the CIS control reference, what was checked, what the expected value is, what the actual value is, and a clear Pass/Fail/Warning status. Findings include remediation descriptions to help prioritize fixes. Quick start If you want to try it out, it takes about 5 minutes to get running: # Install prerequisites (if you don't have them already) Install-Module Microsoft.Graph, ExchangeOnlineManagement -Scope CurrentUser Clone and run git clone https://github.com/Daren9m/M365-Assess.git cd M365-Assess .\Invoke-M365Assessment.ps1 The interactive wizard walks you through selecting assessment sections, entering your tenant ID, and choosing an authentication method (interactive browser login, certificate-based, or pre-existing connections). Results land in a timestamped folder with all CSVs and the HTML report. Requires PowerShell 7.x and runs on Windows (macOS and Linux are experimental -- I would love help testing those platforms). Cloud support M365 Assess works with: Commercial (global) tenants GCC, GCC High, and DoD environments If you work in government cloud, the tool handles the different endpoint URIs automatically. What is next This is actively maintained and I have a roadmap of improvements: More automated checks -- 140 CIS v6.0.1 controls are tracked in the registry, with 57 automated today. Expanding coverage is the top priority. Remediation commands -- PowerShell snippets and portal steps for each finding, so you can fix issues directly from the report. XLSX compliance matrix -- A spreadsheet export for audit teams who need to work in Excel. Standalone report regeneration -- Re-run the report from existing CSV data without re-assessing the tenant. I would love your feedback I have been building this for my own consulting work, but I think it could be useful to the broader community. If you try it, I would genuinely appreciate hearing: What checks should I prioritize next? Which security controls matter most in your environment? What compliance frameworks are most requested by your clients or auditors? How does the report land with non-technical stakeholders? Is the executive summary useful, or does it need work? macOS/Linux users -- does it run? What breaks? I have tested it on macOS, but not extensively. Bug reports, feature requests, and contributions are all welcome on GitHub. Repository: https://github.com/Daren9m/M365-Assess License: MIT (free for commercial and personal use) Runtime: PowerShell 7.x Thanks for reading. Happy to answer any questions in the comments.Copilot sidebar answers quiz
Dear Microsoft, Please help. Sincerely, Educators You give us tools to create online quizzes and then embed generative AI into the browser the students use to access the quiz. I asked it to answer the questions and after some throat-clearing, it proceeded to answer all of the questions. The futility of quizzes is one thing, but do these sidebar AIs allow leakage of private information out of our tenant? The quiz is only accessible to members of a team, but the sidebar is using my personal copilot account. If I had been looking at student grades via the teams web interface and asked the copilot sidebar to provide some insight on performance, would that private information have breached the boundary of our tenant?Help me recover my account.
Hi, My other Microsoft account was recently compromised but it was compromised before as well. When it was compromised before, the hacker added a recovery email for verification and to remove that I added my another email and the request was sent and it was supposed to change in October and I was not able to change the password or use other features of Microsoft because at some point it keep redirecting me to the page that I have sent a request but during that time period, my account was compromised again and I keep receiving emails of unusual sign-in activity by the hacker and I wanted to change the password but I couldn't because of that request so I was being patient. Now I received an email that someone accessed my Microsoft account and now I have to verify my identity to log in and to log in it ask me to type the email that the hacker set up because it's not changed and since I don't know what that is it takes me to the account recovery page where I put all the information that I know, I write in my postal code, my old and current passwords, date of birth etc. I have never used skype, Hotmail or outlook and Xbox so I just uncheck those boxes and then it asks me if I have ever bought any product but since I didn't so I uncheck that as well but then I just receive the email that the information I provided is nonsufficient even thou I provided all the information that is correct. Unfortunately Sign-in helper didn't work. Kindly help me resolve the issue. Looking forward to your positive response. Yours sincerely.
