Is there a good Stage Manager alternative for Windows 11 in 2026?
I use a large monitor and often keep several apps open across the screen, but constantly looking toward the corners gets uncomfortable. Im looking for a better way to manage windows. I like Stage Manager on iPad because the active app stays large and centered while others appear as thumbnails on the side — switching feels clean and easy. I ve tried FancyZones and virtual desktops, but they don t quite match that experience. Is there a Windows 11 tool in 2026 that keeps the current app focused while showing other open apps on the side?

New update as of 8/13/2026 has Microslop Edge randomly greying out all of Microslop Edge for 3 to 7 seconds before realizing "its just a **bleep**ing website, we can handle that, right?" Your AI sucks, Start menu can't find a local file before pointing to a website totally unrelated, things that worked in Microsoft XP don't anymore? I guess my only question is what Distro of Linux do current Microslop employees use at home? I know you'll all respond without reading what was written, case and point the last post I made pointing out the things I have already tried and you'll never guess what Microslop **bleep****bleep**s told me to do... spoiler alert it was something I had already said I had done. So with the rising cost of ram, storage and everything else computer related are Microslop employees planning on optimizing the OS for minimal ram and storage use? So after the latest Windows 11 update I constantly get a single notification from Windows Defender claiming that it was turned off and suggesting to "Turn on Virus Protection". Fun fact is that Defender keeps working all the time and never turns off. Another fun fact is that the notification appears at the same exact time, 4m13sec after logging into account (judging by task manager uptime timer). I've heard a similar story from another user experiencing the same issue after latest update, but for him the notification appears at 4m23sec. I contacted support and they said that they might require multiple feedbacks on this issue from different users to confirm that it's a bug. While my PC was checked by Microsoft support team member and he confirmed that there's no issue with my system. Everything runs perfectly fine and working as it should. From the side it looks like it's some scheduled event bug, however upon checking task scheduler there was nothing to trigger this notification. As well as event manager shows no visible signs of critical errors on that matter (or at least I don't see any). It's extremely concerning to me, cause it's the first issue related to Windows Security which happened to me since my first day of using Windows 11. And there's no trace of it, so basically it's unable to identify the source of this bug. Reinstalling system helped for a while, but after several hours a few minor security updates were installed, and the notification came back. Like i said, it appears only once after each account log in. If my PC goes to sleep, I can wake it up as many times as I want and it won't show it ever again. Hi, The Microsoft Edge browser has been consuming a lot of CPU and RAM on my Windows 11 computer lately, even when only a few tabs are open. It's starting to slow things down, especially during multitasking, and the built-in browser keeps running in the background. Tried removing it through windows 11 settings and control panel, but the uninstall option is greyed out for system app like edge. When typing in the taskbar search box, the input method candidate window appears at the top or upper-left corner of the screen instead of below the search box, making it difficult to view or select candidates. Switching input methods or restarting Explorer doesn't resolve the issue. This only occurs in the taskbar search box; input works normally in other apps.
Remote access to asleep computer
Can a computer in sleep mode be remotely accessed? I had a problem with unauthorized access to my computer with access to my financial companies, resulting to attempted fund wires and the accounts being locked. Hopefully the computer is clean; anti-virus programs have been run, and browser caches cleared. In case the malicious software still is on the computer is it possible to remotely access it when it is in sleep mode?
Win11 New Battery Warning Dialog
After a recent system update, a new battery warning dialog box appeared, replacing the previous notification style. The dialog box pops up when the battery level falls below a certain threshold, and it cannot be disabled individually in the Notifications & Actions settings. Additionally, it seems to trigger more frequently than before, even when Power Saving Mode is enabled. I’d like to know if this is a permanent change or if there’s a way to adjust or disable it—preferably without affecting other system notifications.
