I am testing auto application of Retention Labels in Compliance Centre. I've created the label - all fine. I've also created Label Policy that should auto apply on the following condition: ContentType:'<contenttypename' I've applied the content type to the library I'm using to test this and have waited for 1 week which is the length of time specified. The label does not apply to any of the docs in the library. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, TobySolved4KViews0likes4CommentsChanging "retention type" on an existing retention label in MS Purview
I have a need to make a change to document retention in SharePoint. I need to deprecate use of an existing retention label with retention type "EventAgeInDays" and have users begin labeling content based on a retention type of "TaggedAgeinDays" instead. The shortcut appears to be simply modifying the existing label in the FilePlan. It appears to solve for a number of issues like having to retrain the users to pick a new label name. I have tried the change in my development tenant, and I received no errors. I presume the content labeled before the change will continue with the old parameters of the label. Only newly labeled content would get the change. This seems almost too easy. Is there a preferred way to handle such an alteration? Did I just light the fuse on a process that is bound to fail when SharePoint runs the weekly housekeeping?Solved3.4KViews0likes6CommentsCannot login to Service Trust Portal
Hi, I'm trying to get some certificates from the service trust portal, but I keep getting "Service Trust Portal no longer support Microsoft Account (MSA) access." I'm using an account registered on Azure and I checked the Azure Active Directory, and the user exists (seeing it's the owner of the account). What am I missing here?3KViews1like5CommentsAdaptive scope syntax
I've been asked to create some retention policies for mailboxes using Purview. Existing users should have an M365 retention policy that retains for 5 years. Separated users, whose mailboxes have become Inactive Mailboxes, should have a 2 year retention and then delete. To do that, I thought I'd create two separate policies targeting different adaptive scopes. The first is pretty easy, any active mailbox. The second - well I am not having much success getting a query to find Inactive Mailboxes that are 2 years old or newer. Is it possible to use the utcNow() function within an adaptive scope query? Something like: (IsInactiveMailbox -eq "True") -and (WhenSoftDeleted -lt 'addDays(utcNow(),-730)') it errors out on that last ' ... 82nd character.2.4KViews0likes4CommentsRecords Management - Pending Disposition and Disposed Items - UX and Timing
UX Question: When a document in SharePoint reaches its retention period end, it appears in the Records Management Solution's Disposition dashboard component called,"Pending Dispositions." Is it expected that the document will stay visible/accessible (and mutable if it is not a record) in its SharePoint Library until the disposition is approved, even though the retention period has ended? Timing: How long does it take for an object that has been deleted via the "Approve Disposal" action to appear in the "Disposed items" list? Minutes or hours or days?2.3KViews0likes1CommentAuto labeling with condition doesn't work
Hi, I could definitely use some help, cause I am getting close here! I made a retention policy with an auto-apply with the following condition: ContentType:"Jaarrekening" AND RefinableString00:"Definitief" In the search index I mapped the metadata field with the Refinable string field. The query from the condition works when I use it in the search box! However, new items still (after a week) does not get the retention label! Even though I have a E5 license (user and admin)..it's very frustrating. I hope someone has some suggestions what might be the issue here? We need your help! As you may know, Microsoft 365 retention policies can be broadly applied to Microsoft Teams locations. However, many organizations have requested the ability to apply Microsoft 365 retention labels more granularly to individual messages. The Microsoft 365 Information Governance (MIG) Product Group is collecting feedback to understand this need better. If this potential feature interests you and would apply to your organization, we would love to hear from you! Please consider filling out the following questionnaire: https://aka.ms/TeamsRetentionSurvey Thank you!2.3KViews2likes0CommentsHow to change the compliance-description for retention labels (the grey text below the label name)?
Hello, I have a label published to OneDrive for Business that starts with a 6 month grace period, then switches to a label that has a 3 year retention tracking from last modified date. It's called "Working Documents for OneDrive." As you can see in the screenshot, the grey text underneath the name of the label reads "Delete after 6 months" which is NOT ACCURATE. This is misleading. Yes, there are scenarios where the label could be applied to a file that has not been modified for three years, in that case, if the file remains unmodified for 6 months, it would indeed be deleted. 99% of the time, however, the file would be retained for 3 years post-modified date. How do I change this grey text? There's no setting in Purview that allows me to change it. I want to accurately reflect what's happening: "Retain for 3 years from last modified date." Inspect element on the browser shows the name of the attribute appears to be "compliance-description" but again, there's no way to change it that I know of. Can it be changed in PowerShell? Any help would be greatly appreciated!Solved2.1KViews0likes6CommentsChange Record Label Retention (Record Management)
Once we have applied file plan and use with manage document. Then the regulation has changed retention requirements e.g. Keep from 5 Years to 7 Years. , Change "retention settings" in Record Label seem not possible.. Create new Record Label also not a good idea as there are thousand documents already applied with 5 Year Retention Record label. How can we adjust retention setting of existing Record Label without the need to reapply new "record label" to all existing files?Solved1.6KViews0likes2CommentsRetention policy for SharePoint Online calendar items
I have a SharePoint Online calendar that has content from several years ago. I'd like to create a retention policy that deletes anything that is more than 2 years old. Easy enough but what happens with recurring events if they are set up with no end date? Will they get deleted because the creation date of the original item was more than 2 years ago?Solved1.5KViews0likes1Comment
