Started this question a while back on Yammer. What tools do you use to back-up mail and files stored in Office 365? The fact that your files are back-upped inside and outside the datacenters of Microsoft only protects you against hardware and software failures on Microsofts side. It will not protect you against accidentally deleted files and mails, which is discovered after 30+ days or after the site trashbins have been emptied. At least that's what I think. Anyone has an answer? My customers are typically small companies, under 10 users. Sometimes even just 1 to 3. I use de SkyKick Back-up tools in my own O365 tenant. Which was an offer in the Microsoft Partner Mail recently.232KViews6likes179CommentsMass converting .doc to .docx
Hi All, I have well over 1000 .doc files that I need to convert to .docx files for viewing and editing from IPads. The .doc files cannot be edited and need to be converted .docx files to allow editing via IPad pen through OneDrive etc .. Background I have done a lot of research and there doesn’t seem to be any free tools to allow me to do this. Just to be clear I do not need to rename the files to docx, I need to fully convert them xml format that docx uses. I have used quite a few tools from Microsoft and different VB and PowerShell scrips. While most of these appear to change the file to .docx and even removes the source .doc file, the new .docx files are left in a compatibility state. Meaning I need to open the file and choose “Convert” then save. With 1000's of .doc files this is not feasible. Technology . .doc files appear to be from Office 2007 and 2003 versions of Office. I'm running Windows 10 Pro 1803 with Office 365 E3 I have used various tools and scripts from my laptop, Windows 2008 R2, 2012R2 and Server 2016R2 Summary Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated. Many thanks, Vinny CurleySolved134KViews2likes16CommentsHow to uploads files to OneDrive for Business using Powershell

Hello - I'm experiencing issues with Excel Online files not syncing correctly for certain users when they have been accessing them through the Desktop App. I'll try to describe the precise details to paint the picture. We have a number of Excel Online spreadsheets. These are accessed by Users through Teams and on private channels but are hosted on SharePoint as with all Teams files. Users are able to access and update fine through Teams itself but for certain reasons they need to open regularly in the Desktop App for additional Excel Functionality (refreshing data connections for instance). One user in particular has found that when she has opened a file in the desktop app and makes changes these are not pushed back up to SharePoint although the file is saying it has saved. If she opens the file again in the Desktop App from teams it also does not show changes made by other users or herself on Teams. It appears that a local copy is being cached and that her profile is somehow reverting always to the cached version and not pushing changes to SharePoint. We found that Syncing the SharePoint folder to OneDrive helped initially and I then asked her to access the file through a pinned Excel link in the Taskbar but when she used a different PC the problem started occurring again. We have increasing numbers of shared sheets being used accros the organisation therefore I need to get to the bottom of why certain users are experiencing this issue and what we can do to resolve. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Solved93KViews4likes16CommentsOffice 365 AutoSave to OneDrive - how to choose the folder location where a new document is stored?
In any Office 365 application, such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint, the titlebar shows an "AutoSave" button. Upon turning this function on, a dialog pops up where you choose which OneDrive to save the document to, and where you enter a name for the file. See screenshots below. However, this dialog does not allow choosing in which folder on the OneDrive you want to save the document. All files get saved automatically in the "OneDrive/Documents" default folder. Is there a way to change the behavior of Office apps, so that the user can select in which folder on the OneDrive the file will be stored in by AutoSave?68KViews6likes43CommentsSync external OneDrive shared folders
Hi, I have shared a folder from my OneDrive (for business) to an external user (external organization). He has also an O365 E3 subscription. When he click on the invitation email, he sees correctly the content of my folder and can edit any document. But on the toolbar there is no "sync" button to let him synchronize my folder on his computer. How can I enable this feature ?
