Adding additional Dynamics on-prem licenses via Dual Use Rights - Minimum Purchase
If a customer would like to add additional Dynamics on-prem licenses via NCE and Dual Use Rights, is the minimum purchase according to the product terms still mandatory? Example: A customer has 25 Dynamics AX 2012 R3 Enterprise on-prem users and wants to purchase additional users via Dynamics 365 Finance (Software as a Service) with Dual Use Rights and Downgrade Rights. Must the customer meet the minimum purchase of 20 users also for the additional users?272Views0likes3CommentsPrice increase D365 Sandboxes - did I miss something?
Dear all last week, we received this mail regarding a tier 5 Sandbox and its pricing: I know about the upcoming price update as from October 1 but a) it is not October yet and b) this SKU was not announced to be increased at all. Is this a mistake in Microsoft's billing system? (almost impossible - ok, sarcasm off now) Thanks for your inputs cheers Daniel350Views2likes6CommentsAnnual to Triennial - new end date?
I have searched quite a bit - surprise suprise, didn‘t find any answer… Since there is an upcoming price increase, many customers are thinking about locking their prices now for 36 months (in our case, D365 F/SCM). Can somebody tell me, what happens to an existing annual subscription if we change them to triennial? Current one: Jan 1 2024 - Dec 31 2024 - I change it on August 25 to triennial. new end date August 24 2027? Thanks for your help (there is nothing in the NCE handbook nor on the learn microsoft page about „Manage term duration and billing frequency“) cheersSolved985Views1like12CommentsDynamics CRM 2016 on-prem user extension
One of our customers, who is still on Dynamics CRM 2016 on-premise and does not want to migrate at this moment, wants to buy additional users. Customer hasCRM 2016 Professional CALs. According to our information the additional users have to be licensed via Dynamics 365 Sales (Software as a Service) via Dual Use Rights and Downgrade Rights. Question: Are Dynamics 365 Sales Professional licenses sufficient or must the customer purchase Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise licenses for the additional users?118Views0likes0CommentsPrice increase October - what will we get?
Dear community - and hopefully also Microsoft employees we are facing the price increase in October and do still not know, what prices we (our customers) our going to get. I have checked the October preview price list this morning but did only find a few SKUs in there. Am I missing something? Here is an overview of the "to-us-relevant" SKUs. Highlighted the ones I have found in the preview. Any other way to find correct information? Be aware this is Swiss Francs - so "your" currency/price will probably be slightly different. Also quite funny that the percentages of the increase varies quite a bit - I'll keep my sarcastic comments for me now... any input/help would be very much appreciated since we would like to tell our customers, whats going on... cheers DanielSolved706Views2likes2CommentsLicensing of D365 Sales and D365 Finance connection via Dual Write
We have a customer which will use CE Sales and Finance. Both systems are connected via Dual Write function. The customer has around 100 CE Sales User and just 10 User for Finance. Account Information should be synchronized (Newly created, Updated, Deleted) – so here is the question: Does every sales user need also a license user as Dual Write is updating in real time the datasets in Finance or is this not necessary? – Actually we believe that we have to use 110 User Finance + 100 CE Sales attached – is this correct or is there any possibility to reduce the nr. of Finance licenses? Many thanks for your help and input.203Views0likes1CommentWe have a customer that has gone into administration (Chapter 11) - will Microsoft offer any flex?
I knew this was likely to happen eventually -and we did raise it as an issue when NCE was first launched, but Microsoft seem to be the only provider in the world (compared to Cisco, Crowdstrike etc) who don't allow partners ANY flexibility to move/re-user licenses elsewhere, and we just have to "suck it up". We have a customer that has unfortunately recently gone into administration in the UK. This leaves us with a large liability of licenses until February 2025. We were hoping that we could get some flexibility and move these licenses to Monthly/Monthly to allow us to reduce the seats. All we had was the standard response from Microsoft. Surely they need to address this otherwise they will potentially put some partners out of business - which cannot be good for anyone405Views0likes3CommentsSQL Server Licensing
Hi all, we purchased two SQL Server Standard 2022 2 Core Perpetual licenses. We want install the SQL Server in a virutal environment. Afterwards we noticed that you need an active Softwareassurance or CSP Subscrption Licenses to have the right to use the SQL in a virtual Environment. As far as i know, those regulations were introduced with the Version 2022. The SQL Server Version 2019 doesn´t have any of this regulations. If i downgrade my purchased SQL Server 2022 license to a SQL Server 2019 license is it possible to circumvent the regulations? And also install a SQL Server 2019. Thanks in Advance.616Views0likes6CommentsRenew
Hi all, We purchased some licenses from one vendor last year which are due to expire in a few days. We have since renewed our licenses with a different vendor, however I can see the following from the "old license". The subscription says "On, renews on 13/7/2024". Does this mean it will auto-renew on the 13th? Previously it would just have expired on the 13th.268Views0likes1Comment
