Hi there, As more of you i was very exicted when i saw the SharePoint Migration Tool. I hopped right in and started testing the v.02.60.0 version. I noticed when i migrated a couple of files worth a couple of MB it runs smoothly and very fast. When i put the tool to the test and try to migrate more like 10GB (Or even more like 40GB) the tool runs for 20/30 minutes and than gives an error that doesnt explain much and the migration stops. Also in the reports i cant find any details. Anyone encountered this and found a solution? or someone found out what the max nummer of GB per migration is?12KViews1like19CommentsMigrate SharePoint 2013 Pages to SharePoint Online
I am attempting to migrate SharePoint 2013 pages to SharePoint Online and include all content and web parts on those pages. I haven't been able to complete this with a copy using File Explorer, using SharePoint Designer, or using the SharePoint Migration tool. Is there something I'm missing on moving web part pages from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online? Is it even possible or am I going to have to create pages manually.Solved12KViews0likes8CommentsM-Files to Sharepoint Online file migration

Hello SharePoint Community! So I just migrated a calendar list from On Prem 2016 to SharePoint Online using ShareGate and it was mostly successful. There were a few columns that didn't transfer over because they were Infowise columns in On Prem. Once the migration of that list was complete I found that I got an error when trying to open the list in the calendar view. The error was "Sorry, something went wrong. An unexpected error has occurred." I tried the All Events view which is not a calendar view and everything showed up perfectly. When I tried to create a new calendar view, it threw the same error. I tried filtering the calendar view based on indexed columns. Still no luck. From On Prem, the calendar views had a calendar overlay and they worked, this could be part of the problem, maybe it's not liking that in SPO. But I can't get in there at all to change the overlay settings because none of the calendar views will load. I created a new calendar list in SPO that is disconnected from the one giving me problems and the calendar view works perfectly. Any ideas as to what is causing this error? I'm having trouble finding relevant solutions on other forums. Thank you for your help!6.8KViews0likes4CommentsMigrating Custom Developed Solutions from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint 2019

So I'm migration from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online. I've migrated my Pages library to SharePoint Online just fine and can see my content. However, I want to upgrade these to the Modern styling. I've seen how to upgrade Classic Pages to Modern Pages using PnP PowerShell, but there is a requirement there that the page is in Site Pages. Does anyone know of either 1. Upgrade classic publishing pages in Pages Library to a modern page or... 2. Move a classic publishing page in Pages Library to Site Pages to then upgrade to the modern pages with the PnP PowerShell command. I've tried to do a copy/move from within SharePoint Online but Site Pages is not an option to move to. I haven't tried to do a copy/move using PowerShell yet, but I'm not hopeful. Any guidance, links, or anything would be helpful. I don't want to have to recreate all these pages into a modern page. That would take months.Solved4.2KViews0likes3Comments"Business Intelligence Center" site template is missing when creating a new online sub-site
I am working on migrating an on-premises sharepoint 2010 site collection to sharepoint online. now the on-premises 2010 site collection contain a sub-site of type "Business Intelligent" , so i was checking if i can create such as site template inside sharepoint online. now i find this link which mentioned that this should be possible @ Create A Business Intelligence Center Site Collection In Office 365 (SharePoint Online Site) . but in our case when i tried to create a new sub-site inside our online root site collection (which is of type classic team site), i did not find any site template for BI, here is the list we got:- so i am not sure how we can create a new sharepoint online sub-site that should replace the on-premises sub-site which is of type BI?4.2KViews1like9CommentsRecommended migration tools to migrate from SP on-premises to SP on-line
I have been working on a commercial migration tool for around one year, where i did many migration from SharePoint on-premises 2013 + File shares to SharePoint online. but recently the tool is showing many inconsistent results and their support team is not helpful. for example last week i did a migration from sharepoint 2013 team site (which contain 70 sub-sites) to sharepoint online classic team site, where the tool only migrated 57 subs-sites without informing us that there are 13 sub-sites been ignored + some items/documents got duplicate versions, also without giving us any warning. So now i am trying to find another tool which can allow us to do these main tasks:- 1. Migrating sharepoint on-premises sites (mainly enterprise wiki site collections + team site collection), to sharepoint online. 2. Migrate file shares to sharepoint online 3. The tool should be able to migrate the site settings, site columns, content types, workflows, and of course the data. in other words to create a migrated site which is 100% mimic the source site. 4. the ability for the tool to resolve non-existing users and allow for custom user mapping. for example if we have documents or items that have been created by users who no longer exists, to be able to add these usernames inside the migrated sites. 5. of course when migrating documents/items to be able to preserve the metadata and versions for these items + any unique permissions. 6. the ability to migrate term sets. at this stage i do not want to mention the tool I am currently using which i am unhappy with. Thanks in advance for any help. Regards4.2KViews0likes9CommentsSharePoint migration tool and Active Directory Groups
We have a department that is looking to migrate from a file server to SharePoint Online. In looking at the SharePoint migration Tool, I know this is possible, but I have a question regarding permissions. Most of the permissions on the file server shares are set to groups in our local AD. Most, but not all, of those groups are synced to Azure AD. Assuming the groups are synced, do we need to generate a custom mapping file, or will the Migration Tool assign permissions in SharePoint to the same AD group that's used for the file server share? Likewise, if all user accounts are synced to AAD, do we need to still create a custom mapping file?3.5KViews0likes1Comment
