A new beta Graph API supports the creation of a Viva Engage community. This article explains how to use the Graph SDK to create a new community with the API. It’s the start on the transition from the old Yammer APIs to fully embrace the Graph API. https://office365itpros.com/2024/01/03/viva-engage-community-graph/1.3KViews2likes0CommentsYammer/Viva Engage Notifications in Teams
Hello, I've been trying to get Yammer/Viva Engage Notifications to work in Microsoft Teams. There is three methods I know of that I've already tried: There seems to be a option in the Microsoft Teams Notifications Settings that you can use if you have added the Viva Engage App in Teams. Problem is that this option doesn't show up for me. And by default I do not get notified in Teams about new conversations in Yammer. Does anyone know why this isn't available to me? You can use a Yammer Connector in a Teams channel which posts the new conversations in the Teams channel. This worked a few times, but it has stopped working for some reason. I have set up the connector using my User and I am admin in the Yammer communities that I have selected in the connector settings. You could use the Power Automate App with a Yammer workflow to post cards in the Teams channel. This options works, but looks the least appealing, and I would love to use one of the other two options instead if possible. Has anyone set up a Yammer connection to Teams that actually works? I would appreciate it if you could help me out! Many thanks in advance.5.9KViews2likes4CommentsDisable incessant nagware popups
I don't know about everyone else, but I am sick and tired of the nagware pop ups in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Every single product harasses me with pop ups trying to tell me "hey, did you know this feature was here?", "you can do this if you click that", "let me hold your hand through using products you've used for decades even though you don't want daddy Microslop to do that". This is a prime example. I keep getting the same ones again and again and again and everything I've read indicates they should only appear once. But they don't. They keep coming back like a psychotic stalker ex who wants alimony even though you were never married. How do I get this nagware to stop?!345Views1like1CommentHas Your Organization Set Up a Viva Engage Community for Microsoft 365 Collaboration?
Hi everyone! As a trainer, I often get great questions during my Microsoft 365 sessions. While I share answers live, only the attendees benefit—leaving many others without that valuable info. I’ve already set up a Microsoft Learning Pathways SharePoint site as a resource, but I’m exploring ways to extend knowledge-sharing beyond the classroom.Has anyone created or participated in a Viva Engage community to share tips, answer questions, and collaborate around daily Microsoft 365 tools? I’d love to hear about your experiences, best practices, or ideas on how to maximize impact and reach across your organizations. Thanks in advance for sharing! Let’s empower everyone to get more from Microsoft 365.😃305Views1like3CommentsCan't add Viva Engage community calendar to Outlook
We would like to experiment with using the SharePoint Online Web part that allows you to display a group calendar on a SharePoint Online page. Our idea is to use a Viva Engage community as a means to create that group calendar so that the features of a community can also be used for this scenario. I assumed that it worked similarly to Microsoft Teams whereas along as the "HiddenFromExchangeClientsEnabled" property is FALSE for the connected group, that either all community admins/members would see the group calendar show up in Outlook automatically OR you could manually add the calendar in your calendar lists in Outlook. Neither seem to be the case. What's interesting about the group that connects to a Viva Engage community is the ""HiddenFromExchangeClientsEnabled" property is FALSE by default. However, the group calendar does not appear in Outlook. As a community admin, I tried to manually add the calendar and I get an error message "Couldn't add [group]. You may not have permissions". Does anyone know why I'm running into that error and/or why the group mailbox is not showing up in Outlook by default since the property states that it is not hidden? Is it not possible to view Viva Engage group calendars in Outlook? Thanks!1.3KViews1like3Comments
