using Office365 project i continue to receive your session has expired.
I have an on-line project that i am trying to maintain. every minute or so the project goes into a read-only mode, give a message that my session has expired, and i need to refresh. This started today (12/4/2020). I originally created the project yesterday.
Project Web App Timesheets Existing Assignments not showing all projects
Hi All, I'm new to the Project Web App but have set up the timesheets according to the MS guides. I'm having an issue on the timesheets where my colleague and I can only see the projects we own in the 'existing assignments' list. We have pooled resources here and we all work across multiple projects, so I need to be able to book time to projects I don't own and have team member be able to book time to my projects. I have assigned everyone as resources to all projects, so I assumed that that would make it possible to book to those projects, but that doesn't seem to be the case - how can I make it so that everyone can see all the projects they are resources for when completing their timesheets?
MS Project Task Pane Add-in to use other browser than IE11
UPDATE: I just figured the root cause is due to office.js task pane add-ins is always using IE11. I'm updating this post title to see if anyone knows a way to switch the default browser being used by the office task pane to any other browser than IE? Hello all. I have some dev requirements that involves developing an office add-ins app for MS Project Desktop. I'm trying to utilize the MS Project task pane add-ins to load some sort of Grid/Table that will populate some data associated with the tasks in MS Project by calling an external web service/API. I also need to use the app so I can use the provided office.js library that allows reading/writing data to the project file. I have been following the development steps and template from this link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/project/project-add-ins I was able to achieved what the above link provided: So to achieve my requirements, I'm tweaking the template given from the link above and I try to utilize/add a framework (Sencha JS - our company's product line has been using this for consistency) that basically templatize the queried data in a grid/table. However, the task pane add-ins remain blank and doesn't show anything at all. But if I take the sideloaded html page into a browser, that works fine and shows what I wanted. I'm basically trying to load a custom web page in the task-pane for viewing purposes (Important - main requirement) on these data queried from an external sources and also the need to be able to read/write task data into the local project file. Therefore, I thought the app add-ins is the perfect combination. Any insight/advice is really appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Get data from excel to word, copy fil problem
Hello I have a issue making a small project administration file collaboration , with some files and foldes. Example: I have 3 files, located like this: ..\Project 1\Maindocument.xlsx ..\Project 1\01 Documents\Subdocument1.docx ..\Project 1\02 Other files\Subdocument2.docx Its now possible to link data (text etc.) between documents, and it automaticly updates, both from maindocument to subdocuments, and the other way around. Works fine! My problem is when i want to use this template, i copy folder "Project 1", past it as "project 2". The linked data is not updatet to project 2, it still gather data from project 1 (template). In future I also want a Projectstatus.xlsm, who gather information from all maindocuments.xlsm locatet like this: ..\Running projects\Projectstatus.xlsm ..\Running projects\Project 1\Maindocument.xlsx ..\Running projects\Project 1\01 Documents\Subdocument1.docx ..\Running projects\Project 1\02 Other files\Subdocument2.docx ..\Running projects\Project 2\Maindocument.xlsx etc... Please help. How can i make this files/folder structure and links between documents the easiest and best way, and only copy/past template projectfolder to new project. Anders Sørlie
Gannt Chart - Planning for Delays
I own a residential construction company and am currently building a schedule for a project to start in a few weeks. My scheduling is typically pretty good; however, ever since COVID hit, it's been a wreck. Ex. I currently have a project that is 2 months behind (9 9-month build schedule). Due to this, I'm trying to be more realistic about my subs and vendors and plan in A LOT of float time. What methods do people use to build this much extra time into your Gantt chart? Ex. Do you take a 10-day electrical job and just plugin 20 days? Do you build in extra tasks called "delays" everywhere? Thanks for your thoughts.
365 Project issues
I have a client that uses 365 for Office, Mail, Project and multiple users. We had to reload a windows system with win 10 and all went well, reloaded Office with no issues and Project would not load. Tested the user profile and on other systems and it would not load either. So not hardware or Windows setup. Other profiles of same company reload Project no issue so proved it to be a 365 cloud profile issue. Called 365 support. have now tested with 5 techs. always trying to prove it is my hardware or setup. wasted many hours with these guys . Have to get grumpy to get a manager assigned who states I will give daily updates. That was a week ago and no updates. This user has not had Project now since April 9th. ZERO support and no where to turn too . Does anyone have any suggestions of who to ask for escalation as I am getting no where . We have been down for almost a month and support does not care. No support or customer care line at Microsoft to call and calling the help desk just starts it all over again and get no where.. I hope Microsoft management reads this and I will be pleased to hear from them as their product support really stinks when there is a real problem in their network.. Regards Bill
