I have an excel column that includes dates currently formatted as MM/DD/YYYY. I want it formatted as YYYY/MM/DD. When I go to format cells and change the date format, nothing changes. If I try to change the cells to any other type of cell - general, text, number, time, whatever - nothing changes. Please help.Solved1.2MViews2likes87CommentsFormat Date in header and footer
Hi everyone, I like to stamp PDFs of excel docs with the current time and date via the footer (or header). The "insert current date" function inserts the date in my system's default (DD/MM/YYYY) but I would prefer if I could customize it per document. Any idea how this would be possible? Hi There, I am currently using the following custom format cells for my number display: #,###.0,;[Red](#.0,); I would like to add to this, so that when a value is "0", a dash "-" is displayed instead of the zero. Thanks in advance for the help! Emma32KViews0likes1CommentConditional Formatting - Consider Only Value as Lowest Value
When "Formatting Cells Based on Value" if there is only one cell with data out of a set of otherwise blank cells, the rule considers the existent data as highest value. This makes sense logically, but I want the lowest value, even if it is the only value, to display as such. I can't figure out how to use another rule to eliminate the blank cells from the value-based rule. Thanks in advance!Solved6.8KViews0likes2CommentsDonut/Doughnut Chart - Multiple Series
I have created a doughnut chart with multiple series (represented by multiple rings - see charts below). Each ring is divided into 6, the colour of which corresponds to one of three options (yes, maybe and no). I therefore want the colour of the chart to represent this clearly (green, yellow and red), making each ring comparable - i.e. so that the entire chart is made up of only three colours. When I format the legend entry to edit the colours, it only applies the changes to the inner ring/the first series. I am able to manually edit the colour of every other ring segment, however with a lot more data to add this will take a very long time and mean that I am no able to easily edit it should I wish to change the colour again. I imagine there is a way to do this in one simple step, however am unable to find it. Does this make sense? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if I need to make this clearer/explin further. Thanks! Chart 1 - the automatically generated chart where only the colours of the inner ring have changed as I have edited them. Chart 2 - I have manually edited this chart to show how I want the chart to look - i.e. I want any colours that I change to apply to all series4.7KViews0likes0CommentsExtra-thick borders, thicker than those available?
Hello, how to create even more thicker (than those avaliable per click) line styles in "Format Cells->Border->Line->Style. Question is - how can I create the border that is thicker, or is it possible to create my own border line style - for example using Paint to draw it? Thanks for any advice :)3.6KViews0likes0CommentsHow can I apply formatting uniformly across multiple sheets/tables?
Alright, I will try to make this brief and concise and I appreciate any help anyone is willing to give. Here's my situation: I have a bunch of PDF files that contain data I need to manipulate (some auditing reports). To achieve this, I exported the PDF files as .xls files via Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. Now, this works pretty well - better than I thought it would honestly. However, the issue is that I'd like to apply additional formatting to these (newly exported) worksheets. Ideally, as the title says, I'd like the formatting to be uniform for all worksheets and, ideally, I'd like to automate this process. My first thought was to simply record a macro, where I manually format one of the sheets and then simply apply that same Macros to all the relevant worksheets. The issue here is that the number of data entries (that is, rows/columns), may differ between worksheets. So if sheet 1 has 20 rows and sheet 2 has 40 rows, a significant amount of data will not be included in the formatting, since I recorded the Macro on sheet 1. The real question: How can bulk format several Excel worksheets/tables/workbooks uniformly, given that the number of data entries per [worksheet] may vary? Again, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you3KViews0likes1CommentRelative conditional formatting
Hello, I have multiple worksheets in Excel 365 that present data from one month to another. I am trying to make the data turn green if it's gone up since the previous month or red if it's gone down. I would like to know the quickest way to copy-paste the conditional formatting so it is relative to the previous month and not reference the original cell in the formula. ex: I have sales in column A2 to A50 in worksheet february and would like to format it n relation to column A2 to A50 in worksheet january while matching A2 feb with A2 jan, A3 feb with A3 jan... I hope I'm being clear. If it's easier with Icons, I can do that instead. Thanks!2.9KViews0likes8CommentsConditional Formatting values across tables
Hi, Could someone please assist me with this. I have attached a photo to add context. When I write values into the green table I would like the figures to become red if they are less then the corresponding cell in the yellow table. I know how to format each cells independently but is there a way to do it multiple times? It won't work if highlight multiple cells. Cheers, ChrisSolved2.7KViews0likes5Commentsconditional formatting with formula
I have a conditional format set up that if D5=TRUE to highlight cells B18:D20 yellow. Now I want to be able to have those cell to NOT be highlighted when text is entered into them. So basically, IF D5=True, turn cells yellow, then if data is entered, turn off highlight. Is this possible as a conditional format, or do I need to utilize another method?Solved1.9KViews0likes3Comments
